Honor 4x was priced here for about 24000/- previously. Snapdragon 615/616 used in Honor 5X is a power house for midrange devices, also used in J7, Moto G3 turbo edition, Lenovo Vibe shot, Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy A8 (2015) and a lot more devices too, so its not an underpowered processing package. 5X has buggy software causing slow performance, which will be improved in future software updates.

Even photo quality can improve with software updates too. So we need to wait a bit before jumping final conclusions.

No doubt it has good specs but in Pakistan many people still consider Huawei as a Chinese brand. Now in that range many people will go for J7 due to Samsung's better brand image. Lastly there are many used options as well like LG G4 or Note 3.

No doubt about that. There always too many alternative options, but final decision depends on personal preferences. Overall, Huawei has great brand image and their product quality is also very good. I know too many people who trust huawei as much as they trust Samsung, and I am of them too!

In Pakistan, Huawei and Lenovo are the next best things after Samsung and Apple, all of them officially available!

I had the same budget of 20 to 30k. After a lot of research i purchased LG G3 Cat 6 device which has Snapdragon 805 processor and updated graphics. Original one bought from Korea in 10/10 condition. It came with dock and extra battery as well.
After selling Nexus 5, this device literally is best for use. 3D games and 30+ applications. Nothing can bring this baby down yet. Plus it has updated to MM.
Camera, signal quality, voice clarity, sound and display are all perfect for my use.

Go for it eyes closed. The major drawbacks of it are mentioned in above posts. Other than those, there no major issues. Excellent phablet for productive tasks. You cannot go wrong with it.

However, just make sure to get the very latest stock, as the earlier Note 5 had a flaw in s pen attaching and detaching mechanism which has been fixed silently in latest stock.

Yes in my personal view, Huawei is as good as Samsung. But generally in Pak many people will consider this as a Chinese brand and instead will go for other used alternatives.

Find another newer model. S5 is not wise decision. Is your friend aware of the expensive repairing costs of S5? Moreover old devices are more risky investments. S5 even lacks OIS!, so nothing useful in it.

Old phone (most probably refurbished) + Expensive repairs = Galaxy S5.
