Ceramic coating is applied like wax/polish but it's much stronger and lasts for over a year, some say 3 years.
You can also look at paint sealant which is like ceramic but cheaper but not as strong or as long lasting.
Plastic sheet product is called PPF. Ceramic coating is nano level thin tranparent layer. Think of it as sealant on steriods.
If you want sealant, then try Water Block or Fusso Coat. These are top products for the price
