I wasn't referring to the physical looks rather actual feel of the car since the member was asking whether Alsvin Lumiere is good value for money.

He knows about its price. So after seeing it up close he shall be able to compare quality of its trim, materials used etc. with City and Yaris. And best is to take a test drive. It is better than asking such questions on public forums because here everyone thinks differently.

But yes, its resale will be a problem later on. In no way it comes closer to City or Yaris in terms of resale.

Alsvin may be a good car but it's definitely not value for money in Pakistan, specially if its going to be your only ride. There is no point of buying a chinese new entrants at almost equal price of Japs or even Koreans.

Driven alsvin lumiere 3000 kms now and must say its been a joy so far , the drive has been amazing and the feel isnt bad either.

When you are getting cultus AGS for 2.5 mils then this car Alsvin definitely is a good buy.

The concerning thing though is the price of the parts. Toyota is best in this regard.

Yaris is best value for money and the best car amongst them is city 1.5 aspire though hugely overpriced.

It’s a good car.

But a bit expensive now. If it was 26 lacs vs Yaris 31 lacs, then it would have made sense to save your 5 lacs

Reliability of Chinese DCT tranny is questionable.

Exactly my point. When Honda dcts are going bad, Chinese dcts will be even worse.

All these DCTs are new in our market. Time will tell how it plays out when these cars end up running 100,000km. Honda is an established automobile manufacturer... While the Chinese are still copy/pasting and experimenting.

When Honda dcts are going bad, Chinese dcts will be even worse.

Illogical point.

These dcts are running in hundreds of thousands of vehicles both in china and abroad. From UAE to Aus and Malaysia.

No known major faults like Honda ruined their own dcts.

Every other chinese car is dct and they are preferring this transmission over cvt and conventional one. May be they are better at making these dcts work.

So far havent heard any complaints about chinese dcts here. May be we will hear after a year or so.

I don't own Alsvin, but if I had enough money, I would definitely buy it. Its looks, features, performance and quality are no less then yaris and the new city. Usually, people in Punjab are open to new entrant, unlike in Karachi. However, I think this time, Alsvin is a trend-setter. I now see it more on the roads of Karachi than city and saga. I have personally inspect the car when a new excited owner was telling my friend about it. I know most of you own it can verify how exciting this car is from its looks, to build-quality and value to money.

Honda DCT has dry clutch which fails due to high temperature in our local weather.

Alsvin has a wet clutch, which helps run it cooler. Same Alsvin transmission has been in use in Middle-East for a considerable time without any issues.

I've driven it for around 3k kilometers and I'm surprised by the quality, fit and finish. It is in no way less than other manufacturers in Pakistan. I'm very happy with the purchase. All of the parts are imported at the moment, not good for our economy, but good for the car quality.

As for value for money, none of the cars are value for money at the moment. It's the sad reality. When I made the decision, Lumiere costed 2.6M. It made sense back then.

I like the kick of transmission as well, so CVT wasn't my first choice. If you can live with Yaris' shape, that might be a good option as well.

It all comes down to what you want, some people follow status quo, some don't. My advice would be to go to the dealership and look for yourself. If you're in Lahore, we can meet and I can show you ins and outs of Alsvin. Happy to help!

Steering Lock

Anyone face steering lock issue in Alsvin?

I was facing it since start as it was my first car so I considered it as security feature that the car alerts me before moving steering, although it was random.

right now car is at dealership and under their supervision. Lets see.

Have you tried the eco idle function. What is the feedback on this? Another question: Does it have One Touch Auto window of driver side or you have to press and hold the button to up/down the window?

ECO Idle works as intended. Engine cuts off and starts smoothly.

And for your second question, no it does not have auto window switch. You have to hold button.

Unfortunately, there are some grumpy Toyota/honda fanboys here who bash any new entrant blindly and don’t allow others to either buy or share experiences of their car.

Immediately jump at criticising without owning the actual car.

I see quite a few alsvins on the road so it seems to be selling. Obviously not at Yaris volume.
