All models have standard rear fog lamps aswell. Which no has mentioned yet.

You see, the base level alsvin and Yaris have a price diff of around 20,000 riyal. That's close to 8.5 lac PKR.
If the diff in Pak is not considerate why would anyone buy a Chinese car? Bash Toyota how much ever you want, but they are reliable cars. Would someone want to buy a Chinese car with some frills over a Toyota if the price diff is negligeable?
I would dare say that if the starting price of alsvin is not atleast 4 ,5 Lacs less than Yaris it's won't be able to compete against Yaris.

Looks nice. Good for competition. Now the BIG THREE may work harder and will not strip features so wantonly and improve their products.

If you are making that calculation using the prices provided on their respective websites, do remember that the Alsvin price mentioned is without VAT. The actual price difference is around 10,000 sar which sounds about right.

8.5lac cheaper than Yaris means starting at 16.6 lacs. That's 20,000 rupees more than what base WagonR costs and almost 2 lacs cheaper than base cultus. do you see the problem?

Every market has certain baselines, that's just how it works.

The front lamps on lower bumper valance are actually DRL and not fog..as far as I know..

Higher prices of vehicle may be a blessing in disguise, we already have worst air pollution levels with current number of vehicles so vehicles gets cheaper than we may not be able to breathe. I know I may be bashed for this comment but this thought just popped up in my mind.

Not really a blessing. Air pollution contributions from rickshaws, vans, ancient buses, chigchis and old inefficient cars are significant. New cars with improved emmission stats need to be financially viable for masses

Also note the public failure of not building mass transit system for masses across Pakistan. If there is a respectable commute system by government,I myself would exercise public transport option inplace of personal car.

Top variant for PKR 2.5 million is totally reasonable. Any higher than that and it will start feeling like a risky investment. This car's success depends solely on its build quality and long term reliability. If the company is in fact serious, they should offer maintenance deals to attract more buyers. People have concerns about aftersale service and support. The big three have this area covered with a large network of 3S dealerships.

chinese cars all over are giving stiff competition because they are competing for one segment but are priced at a lower segment,
out of Pakistan a person with funds to buy a yaris would not b comparng with alsvin but will be tempted by the higher segment chinese cars like small suvs, like MG ZS or changanb c35 etc, which are priced closed to yaris

markets are different but so is the product value.

base alsvin should be priced lower than cultus ags and picanto AT, otherwise its just another ripoff.
All these companies are looking at is getting the 100 mil back which they initially invested. and they want to get it back in the first couple of years.

Alsvin will be able to beat yaris or city (upcoming 6th gen) only if it is priced lower and has good after sales service.

Yes they are DRLs only. But they are advertising headlamps as fog beating headlamps (what ever it means)

It might be possible. Some cars have low beams which work as fog lights. Lets see, hope it will work too. There is no space available for aftermarket fog lights too.

Exactly. Other markets are spoiled with choice but in pakistan, there is minimal competition in the same segment, let alone overlapping segments. We don't have the luxury of selecting from a wide variety of options and that's what gives companies like Changan the room to inflate their price tags in markets such as ours while being cut throat in mature markets.

Hopefully, as more competitors keep coming, prices will become more realistic.

If Prince can sell glory 7 seater 1.5turbo for 4.4million that is well below any car in that segment for the features offered then it is only rational to expect that Alsvin will be 2 to 2.3million with baseline at 2.0 and Auto 1.3 at 2.15 and premium at 2.3 anything higher will make yaris a better bet

modern cars with functioning catalytic converter don't contribute much to pollution.

It's the large amount of old trucks, vans, buses, rickshaws, MEHRANS, taxis, chingchis, motorcycles... that have ZERO emissions control.. no catalytic converters either. Biggest polluters here.

How about 0 APR financing option. In US where consumer rights are very strong, established brands offer 72 months zero % APR options. Why can't they do something like this in Pakistan like Ever?
