The Alsvin looks nicely built. Some say its better than a City but all potential buyers including me question this car's reliability.

Those s***ty Honda Cities are running like champs even after 12 years.

Am I correct in understanding that Alsvin 1.5 Lum is the cheapest car with cruise control you can buy in Pakistan? (At around ~26 lac take home price)

if so I think it becomes a very good option for people who have to travel on motorway regularly, it's a sedan so you can put stuff in it for long travel, put on cruise control and travel with less stress

what other cars with cruise control can you buy for less? (second hand becomes a bit unsure, if a car is less than five years old, i think it would be still a lot more expensive than the Alsvin, and if it's older, you start spending more on R&M and it makes it a negligible point)

But still if you have a car you recommend, please to share.

btw a point I noticed, in phillipines they are selling the top variant with black (actual) leather seats and the video reviewer was actually pleased, but here in pakistan we were actually afraid to be given black seats, and are actually happy to be given beige seats, even though it's a lower quality faux-leather!

different markets have different preferences, i find it interesting.

Its cheapest Sedan having sky roof as well (so at least these 2 things cruise-control and sunroof) its lowest in Price - All depends on Quality Control and after sales service by Master Motors to capture/get share from Honda City/Yaris

its not that , in fact they have mentioned beige seats in their brochure and advertisments but people have spotted alsvin with black interior here so they were rathar confused whats the end product going to be.

You will also be correct in understanding that alsvin is being rediculosly priced in Pak. It has some features yes, just compare its price with in other countries.

even on second hand, I could not find any sedan car that's 2015 or later on pakwheels that has cruise control under 26 lac

You can definitely find a Corolla 2015 or a Civic 2014/2015 in under 2600 range with cruise control. One can even get a after market cruise control kit installed in a Yaris that is bolt on fit without any alterations.

I don't think it's a "dhoka" like the video states (btw nice video, i like his style)... I think Master motors are just being business men and getting benefit of our bad automobile market...

after all, if they can charge 5 lac more and STILL be cheaper than yaris, with more specs... why shouldn't they? what other competition is there, both in new AND used market? They are all here to mint money ;p

It's the fault of our govt, they have regulated this segment badly, they have introduced no competition for so long and have NOT targeted concepts like OWN money

also it's the fault of our economy, our rupee is weak and unstable, so no wonder they are asking more to cover any currency fluctuations ( and also make money ;p )

I wish too that the car was cheaper here, my brother is saving up for the alsvin (he wants a sedan car with cruise control, because he travels on motorway a lot) and if he could get it cheaper (~20-22 lac like it would be in the video) he would buy it NOW rather than continue to save money and hope prices don't rise any further...

in india for example, some one with my brother's income level would have a LOT of options in the second hand market for a sedan with cruise control that's 2015 or later, and under the 12 lac INR (~26 lac PKR)

On pak wheels I could get nothing with same search requirements. jab mukabla nahin, tou lutt to mache gi

just google and check, our market is just embarrassing

as for after market kit, that's a whole different issue, you must agree we should NOT have to pay more money for a seperate kit

If the company isnt offering it factory fitted and it is a bolt on upgrade, I wouldn't mind going for it.

How can you be sure if the unit you saw is a CKD or a CBU by just viewing a clip ?

@chinyoti I found the issue, i was restricting my search to islamabad/rawalpindi, which is why i finding all these 660 cc cars and only one like weird prius

but still, you got to admit, the options are far limited, in india even relatively newer cars would have such features in this rage (I was googling I saw like 2018 ish corolla with CC under the 12 lac inr range, for example), and there is a lot of variety (skoda hyundai etc), which means competition

One can even see basic silver stupney cars in grey color aswell in the video circulating online. So once again this is not a valid identification of local assembled cars

Yes definitely, Competition makes the consumers win.

In Pakistan Toyota Corolla is coming with a standard Cruise Control since 2018 in top of the line Altis AT variants. Honda started offering Cruise control in Top of the line Civic and if im not wrong they are offering it in manual and AT both variants.

Rest assured Toyota if definitely waiting for Honda City and then they would add on features since their would be no facelift for another 3 years. They are holding goodies to add on later.
