Price mechanisms in different countries can be different due to a number of reasons. Not the least of them being market dynamics. If they starting selling for 1.5 million, people would consider it a cheap car, and they don't want that label. This kind of marketing is a disaster in societies like Pakistan. You can consider the case study of Tata Nano marketed as the cheapest car in India. Defeats the purpose of buying a car in our society. Simply, if they can price a car higher, they will do that. They have done that here. Now all we have to see is whether they deliver the aftersales support that is expected of them or not. FAW V2 is priced around the Alto as of now, does it sell more than the Alto? You know the answer.
As I said, you gave your point. There is no need of repeating it to everyone who says this looks reasonably priced, unless you want to come off as someone who is forcing his opinion on others. For other people, it is a reasonably priced sedan as per our market. We don't live in KSA or UAE or Philippines or China. We live in Pakistan, and in Pakistan, its pricing makes sense. And I am not bashing anyone else. As I said, I own 2 Toyotas, I like their cars that is why I bought them. But the fact is that Indus Motors didn't look to export markets, and that fact will remain in place, and will put them at a disadvantage in the longer run.
