Cannibalization is a valid concern because I can see many people preferring the X5 over the X7 because of
a) Arguably better looks
b) Master Motors not having the option to shove in an older interior because X5 only has 1 generation.
c) Only dark interior options
d) At least 5 lac price difference b/w comparable trims.
e) Similar powertrains will mean X5 should feel livelier.
So unless they only bring in 1.6NA version of X5 to ensure clear divide between both models, the X7 won't have much going for it other than its larger size and 7-seater option. But it's all speculation at this point, Changan needs to make X7 a thumping success before it moves on to new models.
