I'm sure you're right on your approach - conservative and cautious.
But trust me, if everyone starts to do this, who will actually buy and give new entrants a chance. The whole country would keep with old manufactures, and they'll enjoy monopoly.
Secondly, a generator and a vehicle are completely different things. Generators are produced by all sorts of companies in China, big and small.(btw I've owned a Chinese 5kw genset that has been abused at construction sites in the past, but still runs after 10 years and does the job just okay). If you buy a brand that comes from a small unknown manufacturing facility, you can't compare it to any huge manufacturer based out of the same country. Country of origin alone is absolutely not a measuring stick for quality of product. Also, a vehicle comes with a warranty, and if the group at its back is strong and somewhat reliable, you cam always give it a try. There's lesser chances of it going wrong.
And btw, my personal experience with recent Hondas (City 22 and BrV 18) is very very bad. My Alto and brv have the same level of sound insulation at 80+, the suspension in city makes sounds on rough patches similar to an 80's Mazda. That is what they're giving against their high price tags. It's only the engine and transmission that is imported which feels refined and trust worthy. So why not buy a vehicle that is completely imported, and just assembled here. Hopefully it might be an overall better product.
Plus, life is too short to keep waiting for others to first approve a product and then buy it. If Allah has blessed me enough to afford something today, I'm sure if it falls (by the will of Allah) he for sure can bless me with twice as much again, and make me able to afford bigger better things. I just use a bit of brain and research the groups behind the product, if its looks somewhat attractive, just give it a try. (especially a vehicle, which never seems to depreciate in our country - bravos, adam revos, everything is eventually sellable)
