Civic xi is one of the worst VFM car in history of pakistan
Second only to mehran @9 10 lakhs. People still buy them only because of brand loyalty or reliability. Establishing brand loyalty isnt easy.. and what new entrants have done regarding it has wrecked havoc in minds of customers for example.
1:proton showed a great VFM product and couldn't launch ckd operations even after 1.5 years and close to 2.5 years if you count in thier green field status acquisition. They jacked up prices under court pressure and i know they won't even deliver at these prices, even to customers waiting since December 2020
2: hyundai: Tucson launch and price revision within 24 hours plus they kept on jacking up prices, closed booking many times, couldn't deliver on time and launched two good sedans but couldn't deliver elantra on time and people are yet to get thier cars since 5 months.
3 dfsk typical chinese mentality cheap low cost product that takes a fortune to run/maintain... And they also had thier fair share of delays and price hikes which were hit to customers
4: kia apart of sportage which was priced very well and maintained well at launch(that too has suffered price hikes that have been put to customers)
None of thier product is VFM, picanto has fuel avg issue compared to that segment and i personally know 3 people who are waiting since October for thier car.
5 you all know about mg better than me
6 changan: alsvin had issues similar to above, late deliveries, price hikes, and okayish quality.
So if you analyze current situation of new entrants
None of them come close to big 3 and only reason is= delivery times & absurd price hikes put to customers.
I at one point had my eyes set on proton x70 in july, after research. But i made a mistake of not buying a car with that booking and now all boats have sailed... At current citys price i could have had an oriel in July 21... Worst time in our automotive industry. And all these new entrants cherry, haval & BAIC all of them will keep jacking up prices seeing current market trend. We overpay for underperforming vehicles. And these companies only care about milking money, they neither care about customers nor about thier image/brand loyalty.
