Sir I beg to disagree, in pakistan vehicles are considered as commodity like plot/gold,
People can argue that which car is VFM and which is not,
It depends on demand. Today if i buy either Civic @ 65 or Grande@50 or Fortuner @110, I know that after using 2-3 years, I will be able to sale either these at least 25% plus of Invoice Price so upgrading Cars in demand is not issue.

Whereas in case of New chinese entrants like Changan/Glory I am not sure that after 2-3 years these will still be in market or not and If i would be able to sale my Oshan/GloryPro even equal to Invoice price so its a little bit risky.

The problem in my opinion is that we were expecting that competition will bring down the prices but it's happening inversely. Toyota increases prices of Yaris to "beat" City but couple days later, Honda increases prices themselves to beat Yaris and be the most expensive vehicle in its category. This competition is totally what we neither anticipated nor enjoying.

SADLY, we live in a country where being the most expensive in the car category defines the success of the car unlike other countries where features have always been top priority and it is the courtesy of the customer to decide which car if VFM and which is not

Nothing, absolutely nothing is VFM now. Bottom up, next week, we will see alto close to 2M, with 5-6 months waiting time... by that time, another price hike will be done. It's purely mismanagement, nothing else. Last 4 years now, situation is only getting worse and worse.

irony is there is no drop in sales figures of any brand vehicle.
people make hue & cry the PakWheeler community is equally disturbed for random price hike & delayed deliveries. However sales drop is not happening for any OEM.

Production of civic os 550 units per month. Its 6-7 times less than u used to do so government is equally capable here to control them

Correct. This is the best time to launch any vehicle in Pakistan; be it Chinese, Korean, French, Ethiopian, Somalian, Jamaican... All will sell without any problem. Buyers don't ask any question or bother about anything (Price, brand name, durability, established name in other markets, delivery schedule, after sales support...)

Money is flowing from artificial hike in real estate market. This is bound to crash any time, most likely when the current govt. goes (tomorrow or after one year).

*Black money to spare. People have to park their cash somewhere and cars are an investment class in Pakistan now. The same new brands failed in the 2000s (Chery, Chevrolet, Nissan, Mitsubishi, KIA etc) because cars at that time were only bought by genuine buyers.

I made a booking of Oshan X7 on 10th March 2022 (partial payment) at Changan dealer Akbar Chowk Lahore and at the time of booking Sales representative informed me that your delivery date is June or July and your booking form will be ready in 2 days. Someone from our office will call you to pick up your booking form. Since then I kept on sending messages to the concerned sales rep and I was informed that booking form is in process and due to procedural delays it is taking time. Finally Oshan dealership agent called me on 25th that your booking form is ready to pick up and when I went there to pick it up , I found the booking date mentioned on the form is 24th March. My concern is if I made booking on 10th March then why my booking date is 24th March? The bizarre explanation given to me is that their quota of dealership was full so booking was made on 24th. I asked them why I was not informed so I would have gone to some other dealer for that they have no answer other than admitting their mistake.
These unprofessional dealers will just take pay orders without making booking with Oshan company so that they can shift the booking at their own convenience and facilitate someone who wants to overtake the queue. My concern is a) how would I be assured that from 10th March to 24th March no booking has been given priority b) If this dealer has informed me about their quota availability and booking would be done once new quota is available I would have gone to someone else and get a better delivery date c) What if company announce that after 15th July whoever is getting delivery will be subjected to price increase then who would be responsible, Oshan or this dealer?
Whats your views what should I do?

The price hike is a hot subject since past 8 years over PakWheels. So far there has been clear cut policy of the every OEM (allegedly approved by the GOP) to charge additional amount at time of delivery if the price has changed after booking date. Quota non-Quota is irrelevant

Unless there is conditional price increment, as in recent case of Toyota Vehicles.

I called the 3 different dealers of Changan 2 days ago,
And they told me delivery date for 5 seater from August to October…

At the moment, Changan Oshan X7 has one of the best VFM among brand new options available in local market in Sedan or SUV categories.

We've to face the ugly reality. All zero meter vehicles in Pakistan have become very expensive due to dual impact of global inflation and PKR depreciation. This will continue in near future too, especially the latter. So that means, in all likelihood, all these options we are seeing at ridiculous prices right now will become even more expensive within next 1 year. So those who wants to buy brand new, get it now. Waiting will likely make situation worse for you. However if you want true VFM, better to get a used car as their prices in secondary market haven't adjusted that much compared to brand new prices.

Yes if you want to buy a used car buy it now. Because soon used car market will adjust to new car prices. Usually, it takes 1-3 months to adjust.

Sorry to hear that. I made a booking on 8th March and the dealer told me that your PBO will be issued later. I said, in that case I would have to go to the other dealer. On this, they process my case digitally and gave me PBO on same day. Next day I also confirmed it from Changan official helpline. I have been victim of your story 7 year ago. This time I was a bit cautious . Regards.
