the more i study the pakistani market, the severe depreciation of pkr, the rapid rise of vehicle prices, the more i understand why people with extra cash are so in favour of investing in cars.

investing in cars = guaranteed profit

investing in property = much more capital intensive, too much do numbri.. etc

the down side is that if you look at in dollars/gold terms it is absolute loss. property on the other hand if done right pays you much better dividends

The only hesitance car buyers feel is whether the company will stay or run away like in the past.

gone is the past now, the sleeping giant has awakened and has his focus on this industry as well now... China is flooding almost every market with it's vehicles now, be it middle east, Europe, U.K, etc and over the next couple of years China will make its presence felt in these markets too like it did in other consumer products...

being in Saudia, i've seen a significant increase in percentage of Changan, GAC and MG vehicles here .. definitely they are here to stay this time.

yes, but principally they are dealing with Malaysia, not China, hence the disruption in supply.

You're pretty right. But then are fanboys like us who are still waiting patiently to get our hands on X70. It should have blown off the competition but now it's the last one in queue to grab market share. Let's see how does it perform (or basically Alhaj performs) once deliveries are streamlined.

Sorry to hear that, you were taken for a ride. If I were you I would cancel straight away and demand my money back. In any case I would not want to go through that dealership. When Alsvin initially launched I visited the Akbar Chowk dealership. Their staff had absolutely no clue about anything and also lied that their display unit was CKD when it was CBU. These guys were basically a second hand car showroom now converted into a dealership, so their approach is the same as the other second hand dealers on that road and I am sure they are fully involved in the investor mafia/facilitating them etc. That put me off Changan on day 1, if they did that PBO fraud with me I would definitely want my money back.

I recently booked a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro with delivery expected in June. I am curious as to how Changan Oshan X7 buyers compare it with the Tiggo? Personally I believe the Tiggo has a better design and build quality (The display models in dealerships are CBU, I hope the CDK cars will retain the same quality) and makes up for the higher cost with features. The Oshan is priced much more competitively and as such I believe it will overtake the Tiggo in sales. One thing that is really odd is that 7 seater version of the Oshan is the base model with the higher specced version being the 5 seater. Usually the Top of the line version of most SUVs and compacts are the 7 Seater. This makes it hard to compare it to the Tiggo which is a 7 seater. Looking forward to hearing the views of people who prefer the Oshan and why.

Well because its name
Is TIGGO

A really poor sounding name.

And Chery isn’t really a huge name either I think.

Are their local partners reliable n in it for the long run?

I think the new dealer (probably company operated). Changan Auto Lahore, on jail road would be the best bet.
All others are the same old showrooms that have operated with other brands in the past, and only look forward to investors and own opportunities
