Changan V101 S is about to join the Changan lineup.. V101 is also called Yue Xiang in China and Alsvin outside China. The first official photos of the V101 S have been released. It is said that the V101 S will be different than the regular V101 in 30 different areas.. Changan haven't revealed full details however a plain black and silver color matching interior, red and black color seats and aluminum brake pedals, rear spoiler and black alloys can be witnessed in the pix. Price will likely be disclosed later this June..

At 8.00 p.m. Egypt local time on June 2, CHANA ALSVIN launched into Egypt market through the Cairo International Auto Show. Mr. Wu Chunhua, the Ambassador Extraordinary of the People's Republic of China and Plenipotentiary of Egypt and Arab League ambassador plenipotentiary came to visit the exhibition platform of CHANA in Cairo International Exhibition Centre and guided work. Egypt ALSVIN launching Team of CHANA and the partner of CHANA, Mr. SAUDI, the president of SAUDI Group gave him a warm reception.
Mr. Ambassador had a detailed understanding of the ALSVIN’s performance in the domestic market and the development of Changan. He said that there are many auto brands in the Egyptian automotive market. Chinese brand vehicles are affordable, so it’s very attractive. In order to highlight the advantages of Chinese auto brands, he hopes Changan could find strong partners, do a good and strict quality control, rapid response and after-sales service. Under the president Mr. SAUDI's explanation, Mr. Ambassador visited the exhibition platform of CHANA, and personally wrote an inscription: "Blessing Changan to be stronger and stronger!" Finally, the Ambassador Mr. Wu Chunhua participated in Cairo International Auto Show's opening ceremony. Exhibition area of CHANA is 530 square meters in the Cairo International Auto Show with the concept “a piece of art". There are 6 real ALSVIN vehicles and one clay model in the exhibition. The exhibition has a thick art atmosphere. It shows the whole process from drawing the sketch, polishing the design, making clay model to the birth of star products. It is highlight the tireless pursuit of excellence, confidence and yearning for a better life. Exhibition design and layout is innovative and unique.

Shanghai, June 18 (Gasgoo.com) Changan Auto's first global strategic model Yuexiang was put on sale recently in the Egyptian market.
Following its success in the South African market, Changan Auto regarded this move as another important step for marching into the Asian and African markets. The layout of “the South and the North” in African market signifies that Changan Auto has already got a basic control over the auto market in Africa.
"This year has witnessed a slow recovery in the global automotive market, and Changan Auto must seize this opportunity to optimize its global vehicle layout and at the same time, make sure that China's own brand vehicles set sail in overseas markets," said Xu Liuping, president of Changan Auto.
Prior to Yuexiang, various models of Changan Auto's own brands have already cut a fine figure overseas. Besides, Changan Auto also built its own production base in several continents. At present, Changan Auto's own brands: Benni (Benben), Zhixiang and Yuexiang had already been sold overseas and achieved good results.
Xu Liuping said Changan Auto's layout in the global market covered some major countries in Asia, Europe, North America and South Africa. In the first quarter of 2010, Changan Auto's export volume had a year-on-year growth of 78.5%.

Changan V101 (code name) is also called Yuexiang in China and Alsvin abroad. On the official Changan website the Karakoram motors are listed as the official dealers of Changan, wonder why cars like Alsvin & other latest cars are not being brought here.

well , this car falls under 1800cc so the fixed duty on engine capacity is applicable.

1500cc the duty is 14000 USD.
around 1.2 million

so here is the costing.

previously we calculated i guess a 2.0 litre car , and that was 22 lac something ,
and now a 1.5 is costing almost 2.4 million.

just notice how the government has insured that no competition enters the market within the area which is run by our local A$$#0|35..!!

ok good news , this vehicle can be imported under the normal regime as-well , the previously described was the SPECIAL regime.

so under NORMAL regime , 60% is the duty on invoice.
+ FED + income tax + sales tax (21%)

so here we go...

6.88 lacs + 412800 = 11 ,00800
+
TAXES ( 21%) 2,31168 = 13 ,31 968
+ plus freight and customs charges = 100,000

so a rough estimation comes to , 14,32000 = TOTAL COST

so apparently these are the two ways to import this car. second one is more feasible.
