Changing for radiator fan to keep car more cool :)

Junk the mehran, corolla and all other Pokemon radiator fans - what you need is a SPAL radiator fan, thats what real cars use. You can find them easily in the scrapper market - (thats where I used to buy them at least)

Fit and listen to the loud shreiking tornado it makes - and matching airflow to boot.

I Don't Recommend Any As I Don't Know Any Who Do It Different Than Others.....But Find Someone Who Really Have Experience...Can Do It

for fan switch, electrician was saying that a hole need to be drilled in radiator in which auto fan switch will be installed. what do u say>?

although i agree with xulfiqar about how the cooling should work on factory setting. I have seen many cars having their temp switches going bad especially santros. when it happens fan doesnt start at all, causing overheating resulting in a blown gasket.

The work around i did was i had thermostat valve installed while fan was kept direct until i found the fan switch. this way engine reached operating temp although a bit late but better than having thermostat valve removed.

so how about keeping fan direct and installing thermostat valve? will this address the fear of people who dont want their gaskets blown? although i know it will affect the life of fan motor.

as u all know that in summer and specially with A/C on Mehran got heat up...i was thinking that what i can do to keep it cool....then a got an idea and i replaced radiator fan (4 wings with 6 wings) now it is helping me to keep my car more cool then before

I did exactly same with my mehran while i got ac installed this summer. didn't make a dimes difference with respect to cooling in my car. Noise got reduced however as this fan produces very less noise.

Tell That Idiot That This Switch Can Be Installed In Between Water Hose Rather Than In Radiator....Drill That Hole In His Skill If Anyone Try To Do That With Your Radiator....

I used to buy them from Shershah and Lawrence Road. The shops usually break them up for the copper windings, I have bought fans which were OE Ferrari too. As no one buys them in Pakistan they simply break them up.

Before people got smart about the green body gear reduction type self starters in Honda (called bearing wala self) those used to be broken up to be sold in weight.

They were cheaper than cheap, I have once bought a 1.2KW honda green starter for Rs 500/- and 3 spal fans for Rs 600/- The godown lot owner was more than happy to recieve the Rs 1100/- for scrapped items.

Just wanted to know about the reasons as my bumped alto (PKDM) has got 6 wings fan replaced with 8 wings fan though there wasn't any heating issue earlier for the past 5 years.

But now the engine sound is way too loud when you are standing next to it and simply seems a headache. Could any one in short let me know if its better to have 8 wings fan than 6 wings or any disadvantages as of earlier experienced one has suffered by such amendment?

are you talking about engine sound or the sound which is produced due to fan if engine sound than maybe the fan is too big for your car and engine is taking load

aircon must be cooling good, and temp guage must be static at one spot, keep windows closed to avoid noise of fan.

sir my daewoo's fan is too much loud one can hear it from miles away any suggestions how to keep it quiet? it's a plastic housing fan with about 6-8 fins, i used resistance to slow it down but then engine heat up so i removed that, does capacitor help? where these types of capicitors can be found?
