I have a toyota platz 2000 automatic. It was doing fine since today when its transmission kind of broke. It wont creep on releasing brake pedal while in drive or reverse. Only pressing gas pedal in a jerky way it somehow managed to move but with engine revving considerably higher than it should be at a particular speed. I checked its transmission fluid. It kind of smelled like burnt. I thing my transmission need replacement now. Im wondering if it is possible to replace an automatic with manual one? Basically I believe manual is more reliable. Is it possible. How much will it cost to get a kabli one? Can anyone give a rough figure regarding cost of manual and automatic tranny for toyota platz 1000cc. I live in Karachi. So which is the best place to get the gearbox in Karachi? Any good mechanic for it?
