Changing the body of Toyota Crown

Dear all,

I would like to know if it is possible to install a 93 model toyota crown body on chassis of 82 model crown without doing any modification (cutting or welding) in the chassis itself.

If no modification is done on the chassis and the custom duty for body change is paid, then will this be legal?

I have come to know that everythings ok if the chassis is not changed in any way.

Yes - but you still have to pay the body change duty to make it completely legal.

i think little modification is required

better look in the market first for the prices of these cars. currently they r dirt cheap since mostly r with diesel.

you just cant pay duty for the body change. here what will certainly happen to you.

You will get change the body of 1993-4-5-6-7 body to your chasis by paying xxlacs rupees, then after doing that you will be driving your car with 10 or 12 years old number plate, then suddenly one day your car will be lifted by FIA or Custom Intel of IB or any other agency (which are very very active now days) your car will go to court custody after completion of the case your car will be Auctioned in a Govt Auction.

In simple words do not convert your car body with newer model or else your car will be gone all together, instead add some more money to the program and buy an auctioned vehicle with clear title.

I dnt Agree bcz if u pay all the taxes,,,,,,so court itself give u order after paying all the taxes ur car is legal if some1 stop u alsoo so u show ur ducuments as u have paid all the taxes so they will leave u
