Charade 87 Undergoing A Swap (Suggestions Are Welcome)

sorry not able to get the pictures of axle work bz before my arrival to workshop. the axle was fitted in the car. well the outside part of axle is of charade but internal part or commonly knowly CUT GOODA is of toyota which fits into the gear box and its been made from a engerring shop.

as for the petrol tank ,the tank is now fitted with a pertrol pump. and its also completed now. pic of that is also not avaialbe right now.

i am planing to change the normal analouge meter into digital meter but charades geniune meter is not available any where not in rwp not in shoba as per my information . should i go fo any other digital meter that can fit in the car

Oh nice i hope they are doing professional job otherwise you will face problems and these cars usualy give problem while used as daily runners.

the engine you got in market they say its the new model engine.

BTW for how much did you sale your old engine?

BTW can you also ask your mechanic what he thinks about swaping 4efe in 86 model charade? hows the swap as compare to 88 model bcoz i have heard the engine bay space is bit less than 88 model.

And you bought engine sultan ka kho why is that? I have heard engines are expensive and not much choice there more choice is in Ahata Mithu khan in Sadar where you got a lot of engines.

@vaqas well bro i m trying to do it in a profeesional manner . getting help from my insticnt and experience. also trying to gather help from members here .also i think its going in a good manner.

as for engine . i opened the tappet cover and loked inside . as per my knowldge .if an engine is used for a long time the tapet becomes either black or gold colour . but if it is used less then it remains silver . so did checked on that basis .the old egine ws adjusted with in the cost of new engine .

i will ask him but as per my knowldge it will fit in easy . i also showed him the 1NZFE to be fit in 87 model and he said its doable with alteration to chasis.

as for engine purchase.i have a very close friend of mine and he has got a spare part shop in sultan da khoo.he basically deal in body part but bz he has close contact with engine part guys. he is in spare part business for almost 10 year. so he basically arranged the engine for me.

what do u think should be the ideal price of a 4efe with manual gear,airfilter box. cut axle of toyota.fuel pump for petrol tank and engine foundations..my cost is 42k and old engine was adjusted in it.

Ya the price is fine and looking at the engine conditiion you got a good deal

BTW what you gona do about wiring? i mean the prob is they will throw the ECU somewhere under the seat of your car and no body in these markets know how to do proper wiring i mean when tomorow you will install a/c and when turning on air Conditioner your car will not accelerate on auto and a lot of other function that are present in normal EFI car will be not available.

Good that you got a friend i might also seek help from your friend if i am sure my g11 can handle 4efe :p.

My mechanic is not in the mood of this he says buy 88 for this kinda swap in 86 we have to do some alterations to chasis which he is not in the mood of.

@vaqas yes i did asked my mechanic he said that it can fit in but alterartion will be required .

well as far as the wiring thing is concerned it will be happening tommorow and i will be overseing it, i will keep that in mind about the ac and other stuff.

also tell me if i put some extrra stuff like sound system.fog lights etc. will it be needed to connect to the ecu.also tell me what should i be looking when i am getting the wiring done.

I dun know if local electritions can make all functions active unless you have the ECU Diagram and you follow that.

For 86 alterations will be more than the 88 model?

BTW how many moints are they putting in? how about engine gadery is it still there? as far as i know the 4efe dun need it and charade usually have that.

wel we will find out about how good the electrition is in one or two days .

For 86 alterations will be BIT more than the 88 model

well as for gardery the old charade gardery was abit crack so removed it. and a nre gardery of corolla 86 has been plased in. the reason is that it is wide and more atrsonf and can be attached by nuts and bold. as for mounting i am not sure what u refreing to . the both foundations on the lower side of engine are there. and there is a left and right foundation sa well. so i think the answer would be 4 in total .

today the suspension work was done here are the detials

old shocks were a bit in bad condition so changed all four shocks with spring (kabile ones)

all four wheel bearing were changed . rest of the hub were in good conditon so only cleaned them a littel bit .also brake disc plates were a bit dirty so sand papered it .

the steering cross has been very worned off so it was also changed with a clean kabli one,

the chimtas were very losse so bought kabli chimtas and then old boots were replased with new ones.

the steering assembly was replaced with a kabli assesmbly as the old assembly had leakage.

all four CHIKHS as the mechanic called them or should we say helper were in good shape only the BUSH were losses so changed the bush

Nice a lot of money going into this ride.

How much did you bought these shocks for? I bought 88 Model front shocks for 2100Rs for two, 5 Months ago.

Also bought complete power steering including pipes/pump and other stuff for 5000Rs that was also 5 months ago. I usualy buy suspension or other stuff like this from Akhtar Autos or Al Qaisar autos Sultan ka kho.

BTW the charade gadery if used in this setup it comes right infront of the oil drain bolt so they usualy cut the gadery to make some way for it.

BTW how much you paid for the steering?

You could have installed EPS in the car that would have saved more spare in the engine bay area and its trouble free Costs around 8000Rs.

well i paid around 5000 for all the sterring assembly.power bottel and piping. also the power pump came along with the engine.well i thought of eps but sticked with old fashioned power sterring.

i have bought 4 shocks with spring total kabli.got then opened in front of my self from the side hubs.plus both chimtas for 7500 rs

as for gardery the old charade garderi was removed and new one of corolla 86 is plased in . so no issue of oil drain or else.

Well Have You Also Open Springs From Shocks And Check Or Just Put Them As They Came???

no bro . they again took the engine out bz there was some problem with the garderi so first the suspension was fitted and then again today the engine went inside

also for shocks i did got them opened a checked by the shock speciliast he said they are good ,plus on top of that they have given me 5 days guarrenty . if they make nosie or they are not good i will get them changed

thats y want to get it on road ASAP.as for electric work it gonna happen today ,lets keep our finger crossed

engine gardari and u can see the cut on the lower side. it is created bz the helper rod will come in bweten the gardari and it will be bolted with gardari for extra strength

Great work mate - but i won't why didn't you go for 4A-FE or or any bigger engine .. though the size is pretty much the same only the place of the foundations would've changed and it would've given you great power on cng and would've been a reliable car .. 4E-FE is not bad either but it doesn't give you a lot of power ..

i like the fact that you cleaned the engine bay - would love to come visit sometime - tell me where exactly the work is being done .. I may visit Sultan Kho today sometime ..
