Car: Integra 92 - EFI ZC engine
Problem: Car takes too long to cold start - about 5-6 tries, then stutters during the first few minutes driving. When cold starting, I have to hold down the accelerator pedal and even after starting, the rpm stutters at under 200 for about 5-7 seconds before it gets normal. I noticed that when I pump the pedal for a while before cold starting, it starts a little better.
Steps Taken:
- Fuel injectors tested and cleaned
- Dizzy timing set correctly with a timing gun
- Throttle body and IACV cleaned
- Battery tested
- Spark plugs and wires replaced
- Tappets adjusted
My next suspect is the fuel pump, unless someone chimes in otherwise. It looks like I'll need to drop the tank to get the fuel pump out . So I was hoping there was a way to test if it's really the pump dragging things down. How I can check the fuel pump pressure, and what should the pressure be?
