Chennai(Madras) Road Trip

I had the day off, decided to to take a drive around Madras(Chennai).It has been raining here too, but the sky was overcast for a few hours and i decided to take a spin.The pics might not be clear as it was the late afternoon traffic playing havoc on me!!....I survived to take these pics for you....

The city trip started on 'Mount Road' over this flyover......

...where this TATA Indigo car driver just would not let us pass,nor would he change lanes....

....and this is the car i drove, my uncle's 1992 maruti 1000 in perfect condition....i loved driving it...

...till i finally managed to get past the 'Indigo' guy who probably figured i was not used to driving on Indian roads, and decided to give me a hard time.....

.....only to be blocked again!.This time by a Hyundai Accent...

..drove past a Hyundai dealership.bad pic, though, as the glass window in the showroom reflects.You can see my Maruti in one of the reflections!!

i then managed to get a few pics of a 'Skoda' dealership, the two sisters, 'Octavia' and 'Laura' and the flagship 'Superb were all lined up in front....

Driving in urban India is an adventure in itself!!

i only consider Karachi as the main metropolitan of pakistan n man most of the Indian cities r better than karachi in my opinion..

islamabad is good...karachi is also good......................and some parts of lahore are excellent...the rest is................................(u)

@nak karachi is way better then indian cities according to world bank the best place to live in south asia is isb then comes karachi, lahore , dehli,kolkata,colombo and on 3rd place dhaka , delhi and other indian cities

@ asd123 i donot have link but that is what i had heard in geo news even i was surprised to see karachi in second place but that is true and secondly there shouldnt be any doubt that in south asia isb is best place to live

I'm still drivin'.....lest i be accused of showcasing only the 'posh' areas , i've been driving through what they call 2nd-tier roads here....inner city roads....my trip will take me through the two city beaches, the malls, historic places and industrial areas of the city....

Unlike in Mumbai,they got rid of 'yellow cabs' in madras and have adopted the 'livery cab' sysytem like we have in the outer boroughs of newyork city.One call to a central office anand the cabbie comes and gets you!.All cabs are painted white and are mostly maruti omni vans!....jus' to give you guys an idea of how another part of our world lives!!....
