....I had fun last night.I have enjoyed my trip here in Madras and am thankful for all the hospitality i have received from the locals.Thanks to Pakwheels, i have explored Madras city by driving around and have learnt a lot of interesting facts about its' history.I drove a lot and have improved my driving skills too.I leave for my company's weekend retreat now and i hope to take some photos which i WILL(hehheh) post and finally close this thread since i leave for newyork monday night!!.Thanx again for all your comments and kind words.I hope you have liked the glimpses into life in this city in a country so close to you all , but inaccessible for various reasons.I hope things will change in the future.Have a good weekend and take care....

indeed a very brief yet informative thread about Indians n their life styles...i'm very impressed by the way they maintain the beaches (y)..nice n clean..n i wonder how would the nude beaches look like ...plus some babe massaging ur body :D..great!!..the party pics r interesting..i wonder if u would have danced with some foreign babe after taking those snaps :D...i hope u enjoyed alot..best of luck for ur journey n take care!!

Pix from my weekend trip to "Mahabalipuram" an ancient seaside resort near Madras.My flight is at 220am tuesday morning from Madras nonstop to Paris and onward to Newyork.Hope you like the latest set of pics.I drove on the local roads instead of the expressway to give you an idea of some villages and rural life in the vicinity of Madras city.So here goes.....

Firstly. i watched an excellent talk show on NDTV recently named "Face the Music" hosted by Vir Sanghvi a well known tv personality , in which Shah Rukh(my fav actor) was the guest, along with Karan Johar, a well known movie director.It was fun as most of the questions were double meaning, as were the answers too!.A few stills from that show...........

Thank you for your comments!.A picture speaks a thousand words!!.Regarding trash et al, all major metros in India are cleaning up.And, like in Madras where a French firm is maintaining garbage collection in the city, other major metros in India are also outsourcing civic sense work to foreigners as Indians are not known for giving priority to the same!!.They speak in India of Bombay rivaling Shanghai in a few years.They are ambitious here, i must say!!.I just drove randomly around Madras clicking away merrilly and what i saw is what you see!.Going through my cd , maybe this pic of a not -so-well-maintained neighborhood will satisfy you??!!.

Madras(Chennai) Central Railway station.

I could not photograph this beautiful building when i was there 'cause it was a little after the 7/11 Mumbai commuter train bombings and police were sensitive to people taking photographs!!.Also, heavy traffic in that area meant i couldn't drive by and click without some kinda vehicle buzzing by!.These photos are courtesy of a new friend i made in Madras, Fazal , a graduate of Dublin University, working in Chennai as a SAP consultant.Thanks to him for remembering that i had mentioned many a time that i couldn't take a pic of Chennai Central and thoughtfuly taking these pics and emailing them to me.I thought i will share his pics with you!!...
