As mentioned in earlier posts, Chery seems very serious to bring out in the A6CC by the end of this year.. below are some more leaked pix of the car which seems very production-ready.. It was also mentioned earlier that Chery would use the Riich-brand on the A6CC and rename it Z5. However the car on these pics has a Chery-badge up front but Riich-logo’s at the wheels, means still unclear whether the car will be a Chery A6CC or a Riich Z5, perhaps both.

Measuring 4615×1821×1394mm, with a wheelbase of 2700mm. A6CC will carry a 2.0 turbo engine with 125kw and 235nm. Top speed is claimed to be 240km/h

It might really happen from December 21 to 27 at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2010: the debut of the long awaited Chery-Riich Z5, formerly known as Chery A6CC. Sources from Chery confirm the new name and debut-date. Size: 4615×1821×1394, wheelbase is 2700. Engine a 2.0 turbo with 125kw and 235nm.

The Chery Riich Z5 has been in development for a very long time, and is something that we have all been looking forward to seeing hit the roads. When the car was in development it was known as the Chery A6CC, and was likely to join the Chery A-series of cars but with the development of the Riich and Rely brands by Chery, it seems that the A6CC was upgraded to Chery’s Riich brand, which is aiming to be a semi luxurious brand for the Chinese market.

The Riich Z5 will come with a 2.0TCI engine, which translates into quite the little power plant for the Z5. The 2.0TCI engine is capable of 125Kw of power at 5500rpm and torque translates up to 250Nm. However it seems that the Z5 will be coming in automatic form with a 5 speed automatic gearbox. Eventual pricing, or a launch date, has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be launched by the end of this year with a price likely over 200,000rmb (24.6 lac PKR).

The popular Chery coupe was known until recently as A6CC, but now will be called as Riich Z5. Riich is an upmarket sub brand of Chery.

The coupe has Riich logo on the hood and rear, with 18 "wheels with 225/45 R18 tires that can stand up to 240 km/h

One detail that draws attention outside the Z5 are the foundations of the mirrors with good height. Taillights have LED illuminations while the design of the wheels is the same as in Riich G5 sedan.

On the inside the panel is completely turned to the driver, with multifunctional LCD screen, short lever, sport seats covered in red leather, door trim having the same color and multifunction steering wheel with leather.

The engine options for the Z5 will range between 2.0 turbo to 3.0 V6. Transmission options will be six-speed manual initially, and an expected auto box to follow.

Riich Z5 (A6CC) was spied again and its very much production ready.. Z5 is likely to make its appearance at upcoming Guangzhou Auto Show, this December, and will be officially launched soon after.

The Z5 was initially going to be under the Chery brand as A6CC, but with Chery launching a new luxury brand, Riich, it was obvious the Z5 would get ported over to that moniker. The Z5 shares its underpinnings with the Riich G5 sedan and its engine also; a 2.0T that was designed in house by Chery and delivers 170bhp and 235Nm of torque to the front wheels.

There are only a handful of Chinese cars in this class, with none having a respectable sales record. The Brilliance Coupe GT, sales were at one a month from March to May, but picked up in the summer with 86 sold in June, 98 in July, and 136 in August, so hardly a massive winner for Brilliance. The Geely’s China Dragon, an odd looking car but sales are also not so stellar with just 54 units being sold from March to August. The BYD S8 is not available to the market yet, and the MGTF seems to have gone out of production in China with zero units sold this year. So is the Riich Z5 going to fare any better in a market that does not seem to take to Chinese built sports cars?

The Chery Riich Z5 coupe did not debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show but might now finally show its production face at the Shanghai Auto Show next month. The Z5 has been very long in the making, it debuted as the Chery A6CC concept at the 2007 Shanghai Auto Show and was later renamed Riich Z5.

If this is not a miracle I am no Dutchman writing about cars in Beijing. The Chery Riich Z5 Coupe, formerly known as Chery A6CC, will finally debut as a production car. The first concept goes way back to 2007. The still impressive looking coupe gets a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 125kw and 235nm. A V6 will join the line up later.
