No question is stupid. On average I drive about in Islamabad city and the display is 1 km/l more than actual. Eg. it will display 10.5 km/l but actually is will be 9.5km/l. However this time on the long run, it went the other way. Display was 12.8 while actual was 13.4 km/l. So what do you make of that?

I filled up and 31.15 liters. Milage was 252.8 so that brings the actual milage to 8 1 km/l. That pretty awful and one of the reasons for Chery Tiggo 8 not being popular.

Normal fuel. Have used that from day one. I am told that hioc is supposed to give a better economy. But the question is will hioc costs more so will I make a saving if the fuel economy is better. I mean it will have to be significantly better to make real world savings.

So regular 31.15 liters cost 8100/- so my per km cost was 32.04 Rs/km. In order to find cost per km with hioc, I'll have to drive the car till the low fuel light comes on and then do a full tank with hioc to do my math

Correct me if I'm wrong but these high stress turbocharged engines with low compression will require a slow burning fuel to give optimum performance and efficiency.

My question is not about having better savings, but to experiment if hobc actually gives better mileage. It'll be interesting!

Btw that per km cost is a lot!

I agree.

The economy of 8.1 is pretty bad. I usually get around 9.5 km/l. I had a chat with someone who is an expert on modern cars and especially those in Pakistan and the market. His review on the Tiggo 8 was that the 2 reason for it dismal sales are its thirst and dismal ride. At least the review about the fuel economy is correct.

I'll do the hioc test in a few weeks.

I am sharing 2 YouTube reviews of the Tiggo 8 carried out by the same two guys 2 years apart.

and

They don't like it in the in the first one and then like it in the second video. Also note the 0-100 time in the first video and compare same in the second video. I am a bit confused.

One of the guys is @arkhitekt and he's a pretty decent guy (at least the on PW). Not sure why there is a difference of opinion after two years though.

Also the 0-100 timing difference isn't that big. Could be that it wasn't launched as perfectly as in the first video.

On a recent 3 day trip to Karachi where I had to spend a lot of time on the road. Sadly, I saw just one Tiggo 4. Chery is just not selling as one would expect at all.

That's because you cannot form an opinion after using a car for 2 hours. If I use a Tiggo for 2 hours today and then another 2 hours a few years later, neither of those opinions will hold much value and they will most likely be very different. It's unfortunate, but that's the reality of car reviews in Pakistan.

Oshan is lighter than tiggo 8 pro. Both have almost same power figures. I wonder how it lost? Sorry I'm not an expert in drag racing.

Both cars are very closely rated on the power department. Good question. I would have thought it should have been neck to neck. Not TOTALLY beaten.

You are correct but tiggo's acceleration shown in the video is also correct. Try to find 0-100 run of both vehicles, you will get the answer

His whole channel is full of videos praising Tiggo 8 Pro. So i am not surprised if this is the result vs Changan. There's even a video of him beating X RS Turbo on motorway. He accelerates with random people on motorway, records it and then shows it as if Tiggo won. 9/10 times the people he is racing with don’t even know they are being raced with. I won't be surprised if someday he starts beating BMWs, AMGs and Porsches.

Hi, this is Spec9fically for owners who have owned tiggo 8 for a long time.

How is the after sales response, are u happy with it. Thinking abt buying this car, but it'll be the primary car, so can't afford it being unavailable for long durations due to any issue.

What do u guys suggest, should we go for it?

I have been experiencing a lot of tire noise and tire and road evenness in my Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. The total mileage is 27,000 km. I always drive on the Ring road or Motorway, with no off road driving. I get the wheels balanced, tire cross and aligned every 10K km, and the rear camber was adjusted at 15,000 km. Despite wheel balancing, alignment checks, and tire inspections... I still can't understand why there's tyre noise and feeling tire uneven. Is anyone else facing this problem? any solution?
