Just to correct some info here, the Tiggo 8 Pro version launched in Pakistan is the 2020 Tiggo 8 Pro version of China.
The 2022 version has a full screen dash along with other interior & exterior uplifts.

Thanks. It is hard to get correct info on the net relating to Chinese cars. My information was based on Wikipedia. I thought the different dash layout was a LHD/RHD thing. But obviously I am wrong. This layout is infinitely better.

Just heard from a little bird that Chery will be raising the price of the Tiggo 8 Pro by 5%. Hopefully it wont affect people who have already made a booking. For those with partial payments I suggest you pay the full amount ASAP.

Also the people who made bookings before the closure of new bookings including those with hand written PBOs, your cars may take over 6 months to arrive based on the logistics of importing CKD kits from Shanghai which is in lockdown right now. It will take an additional 2 months for the kits to arrive once the ports open and then however long it takes to assemble the car.

I have also heard that Chery plans on launching the 2.0 AWD Tiggo 8 Pro in 2023. It will be competing with the Haval H6 2.0 and possibly the next gen (current gen internationally) Kia Sportage which will be in the C Plus segment.

Is this “little bird” of yours a reliable source? Chery doesn’t lock price on booking whether you’ve paid partial or full. It’s mentioned in their PBO that price at the time of delivery shall apply.

It is an insider with access to internal memos for Chery. I believe them but I haven't seen the memos myself. Dealers have some leeway when it comes to what price you pay. I have booked a Toyota Fortuner Legender as well due in June. I made the full payment after the price increase to 1.26 Cr. The dealer was a friend and they backdated my payment so I got it for 1.11 Cr.

I am not sure about the Tiggo 4 Pro, i believe it should stay the same price because the sales aren't that high and it is already expensive compared to it's competition.

Yeah there is no guarantee about the price lock on full payment. It says so on the PBO as well. However, when manufacturers like Toyota and Honda increase prices they let their older bookings purchase the car at the old rate if they have made the full payment before a certain date. I believe this is what will happen with Chery. I was told to make my payment before the 8th of June to get the earliest delivery possible. The company is apparently prioritising deliveries of full payment orders over partial payment. Also the price hike is coming no matter what since other manufacturers have raised their prices twice since the Tiggo launched.

Yes you are right about that however, I think its in their (Honda/Toyota's) PBO terms regarding price lock on full payment. Whereas Chery has made it clear to its customers that the price at the time of delivery will apply. A few people told me that they tried to pay in full at the time of booking but the dealership refused and would only take it just before delivery. What is your delivery month?

Toyota has the same policy where you have to pay the rate on delivery. It is kind of an unofficial thing manufacturers do to not upset their customers. When I made my booking for Chery I was told that it would make no difference if I paid in full or not. I have heard that Chery is now keeping tabs on which PBO has been paid in full now. My delivery month was June when I first made the booking but I made the full payment and on the second PBO I was given it now says May.

My dealer said I should receive it by the end of this month or the first week of July at the latest.

So there’s a delay. And if thats the case, your assumption was true in that the wait would be 6 months plus for new bookings. I booked May 20th with October delivery.

I think it may take up to 8 months if they need to import new CKD kits. You may have to pay the new price increase since your delivery is at least 6 months away.

I think if the car price is increased after promised delivery then we will not pay the increased price.

@jake13942 Here we see the same external shape as offered in pakistan but interior has 26" screen. This one is the All wheel drive. In South Africa which is RHD the 2022 model has the same 2 screens on the dash as us.

I believe this is the same spec as the Tiggo 8 Plus in the Chinese Market. We will probably get this or the Plugin Hybrid version in the middle of next year. The 2.0 AWD version would make the Chery Tiggo 8 a competitor to the Haval H6 2.0. The new Dual screen setup and its graphics look a lot better than the current version in the 8 Pro, I wish they launched the brand in Pakistan with this.

It’s hard to predict next year’s situation when the country is on the verge of going bankrupt. So I’d say it’s better to go for this year’s Tiggo for now and upgrade next year if the newer version is available. If it isn’t then at least you won’t regret not buying this version
