altis is distinctly above 1.1 million price tag and so is civic reborn and we had sold a 2005 vti oriel civic (without air bags). anyway, the good news is i wrote a letter to chevrolet america, chevrolet united arab emirates and nexus motors pakistan. the letter is as under:
Dear Sir,
I write this letter to you with utter disappointment. After selling Honda civic vti oriel 2005, I bought a Chevrolet aveo about two months back considering it reliable and cost effective and with the intention of encouraging a new internationally known automotive brand and to inspire others to buy it but to bring down my castles of good will, just after touching 2000 km mark, the car’s automatic transmission motor burnt down and the dealerships here are asking for 25 days for the motor to arrive. I am shocked that Chevrolet is one of the biggest automotive giants and it’s ridiculous that they have chosen such pathetic and incompetent partners here in Pakistan. It is so not like Chevrolet approach because when you are starting in a new region, you have to have a very proper plan to set your feet firmly into the already congested market. Chevrolet must realize that it is already facing great difficulties in establishing a customer base here and if you continue this kind of helpless behavior here you won’t last long like fiat and many other brands. I would suggest Chevrolet to roll back from Pakistan if they plan to provide such faulty cars here because just advertising on pakwheels.com and papers and vaunting about Chevrolet’s long gone history in sub continent won’t raise your car sales. I think there are hardly 20-30 aveos in the whole country and if you can’t even get the first lot right what can customers expect in the coming lots? If you keep disappointing new customers this way you will lose even those few customers who buy cars because of Chevrolet’s name. Anyone who spends over a million rupees on a car expects it to run smoothly and flawlessly for at least a year and also hopes the dealerships will provide best services in case of any problem but Chevrolet Pakistan seems very ungrateful to it’s customers and wants to make sure everyone who buys a Chevrolet here should regret. I have posted the whole story on pakwheels.com: https://www.pakwheels.com/forumreply_az_TopicID!74210~ForumID!1~pw.html so that everyone knows the true side of so called Chevrolet’s reliable cars and I would spread the word around as much as I can so everyone thinks twice before suffering at your hands.
Regards.

and i received a call from nexus motors' representative yesterday(i sent the letter the day before). he inquired about the dealershop etc. and ensured that he would arrange the motor as soon as possible. today i received his call. they have arranged air lifting the motor and it will reach karachi on monday and will arrive here on wednesday (hopefully). and as i felt from his conversation, they were quite moved by this post because i sent the link to them. hope to get the motor fixed in my car on wednesday.
