AoA Adil Bhai, Saad here. I have a 2007 Mehran VXR in excellent condition Masha Allah. EVERYTHING including AC works fine WITHOUT overheating issue. I have formed a very solid emotional connection with the car as well.

The only thing I miss in it is POWER. If I buy a Chevy Exclusive, is Mr. Sebastian still here and does he still deliver parts?

Wsalam Saad. There's no comparison with Mehran. It's indeed more powered, great comfort, etc but the only issue is its maintenance which is not really convenient.

Regarding parts, please see the main post on top of this thread. yes still all spare parts can be bought from all major cities of the country. Parts are slightly expensive but available. May i know which city you belong to?

In case you plan to buy chevy, I'll suggest to go for the car with latest model, less driven and very good condition engine. Better will be the engine, better will be the experience.

Hi All,

I have a budget of Rs. 5 LAC max to purchase a second car for basic home use, mostly to be driven by my father. Expected monthly milage is not more than 500- 800 Kms in a month. I was thinking to buy good chevy, either spark or Joy. As I am in Lahore, can someone please suggest if its a wise decision. If it is, how is the availability of parts, mechanics and other maintenance stuff in Lahore.

In a nutshell, it's not a fixed formula/rule rather a decision based on your preferences. It's best and worst for many depending upon preferences (discussed above)

I just wanna say once again... from what I've heard this car is not easy. And not many people can know who to trust with these special rides. So really great job keeping this blog alive too, well done sir!!

I'm not an expert but I've often talked about this and mentioned the problems faced by people about this car.

1. Expensive spare part: The biggest problem is this. But it only looks expensive if you compare it with Mehran and Cultus. If you compare it with new JDMs and good quality cars, I hope it will not look that expensive.

2. Stupid Mechanics: The second biggest problem is obviously these crook mechanics who just do juggars and don't work or guide you well. They are the ones who ruined these cars and the owners' experiences.

3. Actually, it has only two main problems as per my view that I've described above. other smaller problems include the following:
   i. Sale value: It has definitely lesser sale value than Mehran but no one can buy a good condition car in the budget of 4-6 lacs. So if you have a good conditioned car, there is no doubt it will get sold very easily.
   ii. Over Heating: People complain a lot about this issue. It definitely gets more heated than other local cars but I don't think it's a problem. My car which is no more in a good condition just got overheated once in the last 5 years. If your car is in good condition and you ride carefully then there's no reason that it will get overheated.
   iii. Clutch Issue: People complain that its clutch cable breaks very oftenly but as per my experience, this is just because they use local clutch cable of other cars which is not the right fit for this car. Better to buy original cable at once and ride comfortably for years

I didn't find any other problem at all in this car. I'll like to hear more from people here.

I don't know anyone at the moment, you can keep an eye on pakwheels.com but just a piece of advice, don't buy in hurry. take your time to find a good ride.
I also plan to sell mine maybe in a month or so. Not sure yet.

Hi Adil, after reading this whole discussion thread, as I got my first Car - Chevy Exclusive. I would say new Chevy owners must be in debt to you for providing this outstanding and valuable information for new owners.

I'm facing some electrical issues and some Mechanical issues, hopefully it will be resolved from the leads you have given here.

Thank you very much for your appreciation. Actually, when I had bought it, I'd faced extreme difficulties in its maintenance and even went through some major bad experiences. I greatly felt the need for such a solution where I can get a complete info. So keeping that in view, I thought to take the initiative and I started sharing my experiences here. I kept on editing this post based on my new experiences and by now I think it includes all the info that a chevy owner, especially in Rwp/Isb, may need.

electrician.I take time from him I went on time with my family,you write down that he is very mannered guy but sorry to say he didn’t deserve for this word,,he just simply refused to check my car by saying this sorry I am busy I don’t have time because I had a small issue so he don’t want to waste his previous time on my car,,so I don’t recommend him,
