Chevrolet optra failure?average?hit? in pak market

Its actually a Daewoo Vehicle produced by Daewoo Company with name Nubira/Lacittei (sorry for spellings).
As Daewoo is a subsidary of GM thats why its sold under following brands.
Buick as i heard in China
Chevrolet in countries like Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Canada, Europe, Gulf States, KSA and many others.
Suzuki Forenza in U.S as GM also has some colleboration with Suzuki. I guess GM and Suzuki are global partners. In Japan Suzuki takes care of Chevy sales and after-sales.

Chevy Optra...... may be its a very good car but as most of the people would agree, its hard to penetrate into the market for something other than Toyota, Suzuki and Honda...

wik_a is a big fan of chevy, however if he says sales=average, that represents the sales in lahore or islamabad... here in karachi, i dont know but i have seen not more than 20 optras in 3 years!!!!! chevy is been here since 2003 and the sales of exclusive, optra and joy seems much below average... i dont know why it isnt doing well in karachi, people in lahore and isb looks quite satisfied with their chevy's....

on the whole the car is quite good....

i completely agree with wik_a. optra is a fabulous car. it's features are awesome. speaking in lahori language, pakistan mein japanese cars ka phuddu laga hova hai. they just change car's lights to launch a new model with nothing added to the features and performance. we have the example of toyota 95. the 2001 model had the same shape with lights changed and the recent model depicts the same story too and same goes for civic. it's just our mentality that we don't buy cars for comfort and pleasure of driving. we prefer re-sale. and i also didn't like the light green light in the speedo-meter display but i guess you can very easily get that bulb replaced by a white one.

wik_a, there's nothing negative about being a fan of something, but it does make one biased. you say optra sale=average which is not same as failure which i said.

spectra, read my post again, i never said optra is not a good car or its owners are dissatified.

Firstly Optra was launched in late 2004/early 2005. You can't say that you've been tyring to see it for last 3years. Its just been here for 1 year or so.
Secondly I told you the reasons why Chevys ain't that common as Toyota and HOnda in post "Chevrolet Joy...a failure?"
Do i need to quote those factors again that are hindering the sales in Pakistan?

Everybody is a fan of some car. Then according to your theory everyone is biased. Is it so? You like Civic then i must say your supporting Civic is nothing other than biasedness. I just offered you something. You can have its compariosn with anyother car you like and you'd get to know why do i support Chevy Optra in its class and why i rate it above every car present in Pakistan in this class.
As far as its sales are concerned then factors are none other then the narrowmindedness and poor approach of ppl towards bying car as mentioned by many members on first page.

wik_a, you're good at twisting the topic. we are not discussing factors for low optra sales - why don't you accept the simple fact with an open mind that optra sales are very low in pak market, rather than blaming people of narrowmindedness.

As far as Low Market is concerned then I'm just telling that Why there's low market. Ain't saying that there is NO low market. Yes for the time being there is low market and i'm telling the factors why is there low market and biggest factor is ppl's narrowmindedness that they can't go for anything other resale. AIn't denying its average sale.
Its better that the facts underlying shoud be discussed rather than just agreeing to fact that ok optra sales is low so its a failure.

One thing! The Chevrolet Optra marketed in Pakistan is actually Suzuki Forenza in the USA. Check the Suzuki website

i dont think its that hard to fig out wat ppl want here.....
they want cheap cars with better performance.
Chevy has to lower down its price so that ppl buy it just cuz of it being cheaper than others. graduallay they can increase the price. but first they have to target the masses.
