Chevrolet optra failure?average?hit? in pak market

The actual fault lies on "Nexus" side for not promoting their vehicles....in addition to that, they are too lazy in terms of spares
. I have often contacted them for spare parts but requests are queued for "items to be imported" list....Otherwise comparing the specifications (the ground realities) with any other competitor car, it is no doubt an excellent car

PKR 137500 you pay and you get Auto AC, Gas Shocks, Step Gate Auto, Sunroof, Alloywheels, Steering Mounted Audio Control, Cooling Compartment, Airbag, Keyless Entry System...so on and so forth.
Only ABS is not present in this car which is present in Oriel and now Altis.
Price is decently reasonable.
About narrowmindedness. Well it means that ppl don't go for just coz of re-sale. This is what narrowmindedness is.

About Santro and Shehzor. Both are PRODUCED here LOCALLY. That increases the re-sale too. On imported cars you get less re-sale value. Plus the so-called status symbol that ppl show by ownig Corolla Saloon and Oriel.

Optra has best value for money in currently available options of a midsize car.
Any independent survey will prove this fact.
Also quality, fit and finish and trim is far superior then competition. Its reasonable priced as well but NEXUS itself is a big question mark as Wik said.

maybe they should have surveyed the market properly b4 launching smthg with no name but fairly high priced. i know it justifies its price but target market matters. they should have introduced this car with lesser/basic accessories with an option of a base model.

My son! you need to do a better home work, My neighbor has got a black colored Optra which he bought in the late 2003s, this actually was the first Optra ever, which i spotted in Karachi... does this mean that the perosn actually got a 2005 model in 2003...???

the fact remains fact, Chevy has got extremely low sales here. no matter in what way you try to justify it. most of the people on the form can see how much bi-assed ur posts are

there were more Kia Classics on road in 1 year than Chevy Optra in 3 years.... now i know you would say that we should give it more time to gain good repute!!!!!

Im not trying to say here that its not a good car... both exclusive and optra (originally Daewoo vehicles) are the best value for money BUT you have to admit that the sales are well below average......

As far as the topic "Chevy Joy a failure......???" is concerned, the reason to post that topic was that i visited 6 showrooms the same day when i visited Chevy City Motors... including Hyundai Apollo, Hyundai Sherwani, Toyota Central, Suzuki Shahrae Faisal... but none contacted me the way Chevy motors did.. as if they just cant afford to loose a customer, this clearly shows the sales level of Chevy in Pakistan and i guess most of the people know the reality...

i totally agree wid Wik_a and all otha Optra lovers...this car is the best mid-size sedan out there in the market...many more features den lancer, much better drive...in the 13 Lac range it has outclassed the Civic's, Altis', and Lancers etc....If Only the Sunny Super Saloon was priced around 13 Lac, it would be a good buy...only Sunny can be compared to Optra in terms of quality, drive, accessories, but loses out because of the price....y wud u spend 15 Lacs on a midsize sedan....its useless...

I got my Exclusive in Sep 2004. At that time there was no sign of Optra in Lahore. I checked both showrooms and no optra was there. Later on in newspaper i read that optra has been launched. I didn't say its 2005model. I said it was imported in late 2004/early 2005.

As far as agreeing to your VALID comment that Optra has low sales then bring any of my comment where i said that Optra's sales are as much as of Corolla and Civic and Baleno. Bring any of my comment. Why do you want me to admit which i myself claim about optra. Please thora hosh say. My comments are not biased. You yourself have said that Optra is not a bad car and thats what i and others are saying. Can't you understand it?

And tell me that bi-assed stuff you'd to face on this forum. Bring it up buddy. or i rip the bi-ass.

Hyundai, Toyota, Suzuki are well set brands here. They won't give the hell if you won't buy their car. If you're from marketing side then i don't need to tell you how to increase number of customers.

And Please...Don't tell me again that I SHOULD ADMIT THAT CHEVY SALES ARE LOW. Before asking me to admit you and your other buddies who keep on telling me that my posts are biased, read my comments with eyes wide open.

Totally agree with you brother. and yeah Nissan Sunny is a bit empty. They should've introduced more accessories in this price. Otherwise Nissan Sunny has very killing looks and cute interior. The chrom lining is simply superb (Y)

if you were a bit logical and neutral, you must have said that the sales are way below average... i dont know how much shares you hold in nexus but...... i know one thing, if you own a car, it does not mean that all of its + points should be exaggerated and -ve should not be considered. The topic of this thread appears to be "chevrolet optra failure?average?hit? in pak market" no one claims that its a bad car, but one should have the courage to accept the reality and speak the truth..

Marketing..... dont teach this to me dear... if you study marketing, you would come to know that the cheapest way to sell your product is to approach the customer before he becomes your customer.. let me give you an example.... read carefully

In my last last post i refered to factors that i told regarding chevy sales. I referred that in Chevrolet...a failure??? thread. Not your experience.

my feeling is that most people in pakistan compromise on performance and quality and go for what everyone else is driving - resale takes at least 3 years to get established.

as for optra sales, i see optras everyday in karachi and more in islamabad when i visit. if there are a million vehicles in karachi, what is the probability of seeing 1000 cars in a million? the answer is 0.1% or one-tenth of 1 percent.

I totally agree with you sir. In Lahore I see 3-4 optras per day. This is not a constant figure. An Average figure. Some day i see only 1 but someday i see around 7-8 Optras.

Yeah, Optra population is increasing day by day, there are so many in lahore. It also looks agressive and stylish. Recently, talk to an owner of optra at service station, he told me the overall body material, plastic of this ride is far better than local civic & rolla.

I see more Lancer then Optra and i guess Lancer came after the launch of Optra, why ?
Optra is good, Was Spectra bad, what was your Feeling when you First saw the Kia Spectra iback in 2001 ? People used to see this car with their Jaws touching the ground, remember ?
Optra is good at 8 Lacs, Lancer is also good at 8 Lacs, If they have to beat Toyota they should come up with Price Tags Lower then basic Toyota, or just dont come up with new products ... simple ! dont need any power windows/climate control etc crap... just lower the price tag somehow and the car will sell, atleast in a number close to Spectra
