There's even a base model for 2.66lacs. Oh, and go ahead and calculate the exchange rate. I'm always excited about a new model launch, but the prices you guys are having to pay for cars is leaving me cold.

May be its the taxes that are inflating the price in Pakistan.
I think Chevy will drop the price if they start assembling it here, like the Joy.

I recently profiled Chevy(India) in my "What's cool..." thread and i inquired about the 'on the road' price of the base model Spark that GM(India) was advertising for INR2.66lac in Dec/Jan and i was told it was INR 3.12lac approx. This amount included lifetime tax and 1st year comprehensive insurance which was absorbed by GM(India). So, i would say that for a 2.66lac car tax is approx. 40-45thousand. I'm not aware of the breakup.

The Indian made Spark LS costs 580,000PKR. The IMPORTED Spark LS in Pakistan costs 750,000PKR after 100% duty. Only an idiot would say Pakistanis are being ripped off. Nick: Your presence here is appreciated but please try not to blurt out Indian prices without any currency or tax considerations.
Vitz comparisons: There is no comparison between a brand new car with a full warranty vs a used second hand Vitz.
