Hello Guys!
I hope I will not disturb (already disturbed nation) you any more. I know everyone is fed-up by (self created rupee slump) and higher $ rates.
Leave all fears and talks, lets walk into 4-5year in past. where there's no 'i' after Cultus VXR and there's no such Spark of load-shedding.
Chevrolet introduced Chevy-Exclusive mid/late 2003 with price tag of 5,00,000 (do correct me if i am wrong) and LS version @ 5.5Lacs.
At that Time, AC/coure was available with CNG in 4.34Lacs. and Cultus VXR/CNG was available in 5.73Lacs.
Chevy was a Failed Car! .......................... hey stop!
Let's do not forget that we're living in pakistan, and cars were selling at huge own prices at that time. Cultus own was around 60,000 coure own was around 80 to 100,000/-
let me calculate the amounts again.
Coure CX / CNG: 434+100=534
Cultus VXR/CNG: 573+60=633
Chevy LS: 550+(Nothing)=550.
That is why Chevy was still being sold to some 'educated' customers, as its safety features was highlighted by these.
Now.......
Coure CX/CNG: 669+own (?)=669
Cultus VXR/CNG: 884+own(?)=884
Chevy Spark LS: 760+own(nothing)=760
It looks, if there's no own 'Coure wins the price game'
Let's go to analysis and see if there's anything i can help to sort this puzzle.
I am currently owning 'Chevy Exclusive' 'Yes its true'
I drove, Chery QQ (chinese copy of chevy), Coure, Cultus.
Space vise, Cultus is the best.
Pick vise, coure is the best.
Safety vise, Chevy Spark is the best.
After driving coure, Chevy looks like 800cc tank.
Coure has best power/weight ratio thus best acceleration.
Chevy Spark, looks to have very huge weight (860kg where as coure has 640kg) this high kerb weight of chevy makes its not very good choice with 800cc engine.
if one's prime purpose is to have a compact car for city use, pls go for coure. and if 'safety is not foreign language' you can go for 'Chevy Joy'.
Wait and wait, till we see local version of 'Chevy Spark' and then invest in there.
by the way, i don't see any 'big' changes in 'Chevy Spark' compared with 'Chevy Exclusive'. don't forget PICANTO EX M/T (1.1L) in 7.5lacs while discussing 'Chevy Spark'
Please continue, i hope i didn't waste your time.

Ali Qadri
