Taiwan's automaker Yulon Group plans to mass-produce its Luxgen-brand cars with its joint venture in mainland China with Dongfeng Motor Corp. Yulon Group set up a joint venture, the Luxgen Motor (Zhejiang) with Zhongyu Group in Zhejiang province in 2007. The project, however, terminated as the mainland began restructuring its auto industry, urging Yulon to turn to Dongfeng for its own-brand car project in the booming auto market.
The Luxgen SUV measures 4800/1930/1760mm with a wheelbase of 2910mm. Equipped with a 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine, with a maximum power 130kw (175 hp) and maximum torque of 274Nm coupled with Japan's Aisin five-speed tiptronic transmission.
Luxgen SUV is equipped with warning systems LDWS + lane shift, Night Vision + high sensitivity support system at night, the driver's seat ventilation / heating / electrical massage, eight conditioning + group memory, ABS+EBD+EST+BAS+TCS, full-time four-wheel drive system etc
Price undisclosed yet, the SUV will likely begin production by the end of 2011.
