Hey guys

Chipped my car about a month ago thought I'll share it with you. My car was 150bhp as standard (1.9 DOHC SRI Turbo Diesel), after chipping is around 180-190bhp which is pretty quick for a diesel. Before chip tuning the car, it was giving me around 34mpg locally, now around 38mph locally (that's party with flooring the pedal). Chip box I bought is 2nd hand, costing 50 pounds and installs literally within 2 mins.

I don't know how it works but it does, this guy I know bought a 335i. He remapped the ECU and now it's much faster then new M3 and better on fuel then before.

Does anyone know how this works ie more power and better fuel aswell

sumair, these chips play around with timing, boost, fuel, air etc. on diesel cars you can get HUGE improvements in torque since most stock TD's are designed to give bottom end grunt not outright performance.

Agree with you, the torque is much much more then before and there seems to more of a turbo lag then before too but when it kicks it, it does pull you back.

The BMW is chipped too but that is professionally ie ECU remap costing around 350 (I think, previous owner did it), this chip box is just a lazy way of tuning

A quick question sum1 was offering a performance mod chip for Â£35 is that wat u installed in the vectra. It was a universal thing. do they really work?

I'm not sure about universal chip but this is specifically for Vectra C 150bhp version of 1.9 Diesel engine. This won't even work on a SOHC 1.9 Diesel which is 120bhp hence it is only for 150bhp version.

Ask the seller if it will fit the car you want to make it fit and see what he/she says

thats the same my friend has installed in his vigo,he claims that his vigo is 200hp now along with a few other upgrades and the fuel consumption is improved.

Yeah, it does improve fuel consumption along with more power. I'm very happy with it but some people still preffer the professional way to chip a car ie ECU remap

MOT doesn't effect whether its on or off and same applies with dealers, it will have an effect if the car was under warrenty but it ran out 2 years ago. The only problem is, if Allah forbid it crashes, then insurance won't cover as I haven't declared it (shush) so at that time I can take it off

Hain! V6! Naah this ain't V6. There is a lot of stupid confusions in Vectra SRI CTDI registerations. This guy I know bought a SRI CDTI 120 and insurance company said it's 150, he said no it isn't they at the end insured him as 150 rather then the SOHC 120 version! This on the logbook, HPI etc etc says 150 CDTI SRI. That website is giving wrong info
