@robby2010
Well really don't know which car will take the lead, but one thing is for sure that both cars produce exactly 108.62 hp at 5800 rpm and do 0-100 km/h in 9.5-10 seconds...City may win because of its better power to weight ratio...Civic is also a powerful car and can also win if its properly tuned and the driver is also skilled
Sir the EXI produces 110PS and Steermatic 109PS, the EXI manual can do 100km/hr in 10.5s, never tested the PROSMATEC but it will be surely couple of tenths slower.
I do not think Steermatic can do that in 9.5s (even it takes a very good driver to do 9.5s in VTI manual and not everyone can do that) because of its CVT, low torque figures at high RPM, EXI can never win as well as VTI will never loose.
@mubeenshahid
city steermatic can win bcoz of its power to weight ratio otherwise city is no match for civic its stability,brakes and grip is crap
That is the judgment pretty close to perfection.
@Bad_Cheetah
sorry for going off topic
R18 civic is a 8 second 0-100 car..9.5 is too much..in normal conditions it goes from 0-100 in around 8.5 seconds max
Sir the 8.5s time is for North American Civic, which they use to calculate at 0-60 mile translates to 96km/hr, 100km/hr takes a couple of time more and its is close to 9s, European Civic with much smaller body and a 6 speeder does that in 8.2s (0-96km/hr).

Agreed, what portion of a second will be taken by a perfect driver to shift the gears? In steermatic its a blink of an eye wont that be an edge along with 50Kg wieght difference. just a thought bro
Sir its just the perception that Auto/CVT will shift quicker, a manual will always shift quicker, if the Steemratic used a F1 pedal shifter like Ferrari F430/F458 that take 80-120ms or a DSG like Audi S3, it would be definitely quicker then a 5 speed manual but a CVT cant be quicker then a manual.
I can shift quicker then Auto/CVT, because I am driving that Civic since 10 years now and I know its peak curve of power and torque.
@incognito59
Kerb weight Exi 1263 Kgs
Kerb weight Steermatic 985 Kgs
I just googled the above information!
EXI Prosmatec weights 1055 kg, a loaded VTI Oriel PROS UG weighs 1135 kg, I will scan you my owner's manual, Atlas cars do not have the equipment of American/Japanese Civic.
@Retrograde
agreed!!! lets have a final date - it would be great if we can have like a battle auto trannies (STOCK cars only with no CNG), following can be invited:
- Steermatic 1.5
- Civic 1.5 Exi
- Liana 1.6 auto
- Lancer 1.6 auto
- Sunny 1.6 auto
- SE Saloon 1.6 auto
- Civic VTI Pros 1.6
I will vote like that:
2nd Steermatic 1.5
3rd Civic 1.5 Exi
6th Liana 1.6 auto, they have stopped the production now.
7th Lancer 1.6 auto
4th Sunny 1.6 auto, I think its the QG16DE.
5th SE Saloon 1.6 auto
1st Civic VTI Pros 1.6
@iLLDuDe786
yar if a person noes how to race wid an auto tranny then theres nt mch difference left
i raced my 1.8 civic auto with 1.8 civic manual and beleive me the difference was not much. only at launch theres a bit of a gap but when speeds reach high then the car's ALMOST even out.
Sir I totally agree to you but the difference in Eagle Eye PROSMATEC is much greater because its shift pattern is a touch slow and it has to do with 4 gears.
@ahmadbila
may be im wrong but i really doubt these figures, i heard city was 1100 sumthing.nd civic was near 1300
Sir I think the Steermatic is close to 1,000kg, and 1250kg is the weight of 1.8 VTI Oriel PROSMATEC.
I can write to you on a stamp paper that EXI PROSMATEC will not win in a drag.
EXI Manual will also not win, 30% chances are for drivers who have a race quick reflexes and a left foot.
VTI PROSMATEC will have a chance to win, if you start on "D3", at 30km/hr shift to "2" and at 75km/hr again shift to "D3".
VTI manual will easily overtake the Steermatic with a 3 meters difference.
In my Office VTI Manual Petrol, I floored the pedal at National Highway, while racing an Altis Cruisetronic with 10K km done (ATZ number) and Altis was 3-5 meters behind me right up to 175km/hr, once the RPM meter crosses 6,000 RPM on Petrol, very few 1.6L cars can keep up with it.
The same thing happened with a 2.7L TX Prado.
Its pretty much biased and unfair to compete with a C Segement Family Car with non Vtec (EXI) and the most sporty B segment car (since there was no Si or Type R in City) with a VTEC.
Why do not we compare the Steermatic with a 19 years old D15B VTEC in a CRX and see what it is capable of or even a D15B VTEC in an after market Ferio.
