City 2000 - engine rebuild or swap? Help needed

my car had got blown head gasket.. took the car to mechanic. He gave two options after opening the engine head.

1 - get new head and new pistons and get the cylinder walls faced with leth machine.
2 - get new engine from shershah

now I am confused what should be the best option. currently the engine is same as stock engine i.e 16 years old. I doubt that another good engine will be available fro city hyper 16 valve.

Rebuild it - whats the use of changing the engine block when its fine and head can be faced easily...it will ruin the resale, legal issues with papers, and most of all, aap k dil se bhi utar jaegi aapki car

Thanks for giving the advice.. I am also in favor of getting the head and cylinder walls repaired and get new pistons. the mechanic is saying that he need to ask whether head can be further faced or not otherwise need to be replaced. Head gala hua nahi pehle aik bhar bhi faced hua wa hai bas

Go to Shafiq mor market - mini sharshah hai wo - wahan il send to a person to consult yr case. He is my neighbour. Ho sakta hai head mil jaey. He deals in engines

I have no good experience of overhaul, so i swapped and piece of mind. The blown head gasket is not a major issue though it can be changed quite easily. Please only use OEM steel head gasket not the card one.

If the head is not in good shape, he will definitely be needing a custom made gasket...

the leth machine wala said that there is no need to replace head, it can be faced along with installing new valves... and yes I will be using all good quality material.. no compromise on quality of parts

Meri lia?a ki 3 baar gasket gai, my mechanic put in a cutom made gasket in it last year May...mashallah car is perfect..no over heating etx...my head got a bit bad due to 3times but it is working like a charm..

Kahan se kaam krwa rhe hain aap?

hmmm... there is only one issue with him that he does not have computer for efi cars and works only on the basis of his experience... Once I got missing issue in my City, he did all he can but the issue did not resolve... I then took the car to efi guy near Naseerabad near haji mehfooz wali gali namely; New Tech Autos. He scanned the car on computer and there was an ignition error code which he removed and then the car was all set

Yar ye gasket ka saara kaam waisay bhi manual he hai saara. Almost all mechanics do things manually..and they almost always work out correct...

Waisay, city ki gasket change lamba kaam hai? Liana ki gasket change is a hell job for mechanics as i remember them murmuring while working on my car
