n one thing....u must test drive both before taking ur final decision....n dont drive someone old used car....try to test drive a new one like u will be buying for urself....thats the best test.

some people said city is best, some said XLI, go with the majority. both cars are new and have new technology, my friend said city is good in fuel consumption, but never heard XLI is good in fuel consumption. Interior and Exterior is best in XLI. bit wide care then city, city never impressed me also.

see at roads, if you see 100 corolla then only 10 cities. Honda always loos its sale after one or two years. but corolla never loos its sale even in the last year of its model.

Engine performance points will go for city, but here i heard some guys talking about knocking issue in new city. also XLI is with company fitted CNG, honda will loose warranty if CNG install.

I have kept both City 2010 & Corolla 2010. If u want a family oriented tough car with best resale then go for Corolla otherwise go for City. U can get a pre face lift good Gli for the price of a new city. So go for the Gli.

Dear Go for what you like i.e. Xli
I want to share one thing never try crook lock in your XLI .... I tried it with my cousin XLI result was ..... Clutch got free and have to spend 5200 to replace the part

You can clearly see there is no support in clutch of corolla for crook lock on the other hand Honda City has a good support in clutch which protect it against further stretching .....

Only 2 drawbacks of xli
No power windows & no Abs.

Else it is better than City Manual in all aspects.

hope everyone is fit n fine ... well let me share my exp with Xli ... i have 08 model new shape 40k km driven ... before xli i have 2000 vti orieal . when i bought xli everyone said .... yaar xli 1300cc hai bhut fazul hai ... underpower .. etc etc

But trust me ... after 2000 civic mujay bhi yahee feel hua so i start searching for 1.8 reborn and altis ... but my last week visit to abbottabad , thandiyani and nathiagali change my view completely.

driving exp just way to good ...
petrol 3000 rs 680km pesh to abbottabad , then naitiagali then thandiyani and again back to pesh ac on ..

comfort bhut alla thee .... kui problem nai thee ... jab yaha say ja raha tha to saab keh rahay thay xli is not for hills ... but trust me ... xli giv not a single hitch . road to thandiyani is very narrow and has very tight turns ... but xli rocks ...

it depend on driver that how u drive .... i also saw 800 cc mehran and coure in thandiyani ... jab 5 lac kee merhan ja sakti hai tu 14 lacks ke xli nai jaeya gee ... so stop comparing with city or any other car .. har car ka apnay advantages and disadvantages hai ....

tilll now no problem with xli ...

For family Xli is better.

Go for city... very pleasureful drive. Excellent fuel economy. Superb handling(even with crappy eurostar tires). Acceleration is awesome. Interior is good too. Rear seats are much comfortable than corolla. low cabin noise. I bought city last year in april. never faced any knocking and power loss issue.

Now coming to corolla(XLI).
Its resale is better than city. but remember Resale value will not save ur life.
Xli lacks ABS. Power windows. Central locking. Door handles and side mirrors are also not matching which looks very odd. Handling is so so. Cabin is noisy as compared to city.

I myself owning a loaded model of corolla. But in my opinion. City is better. And i also feel city more comfortable!. paying 1.5 million for a car with NO power windows, AbS, Central locking, matching door handles, side mirrors doesnt makes any sense according to me. Now choice is urs.

Corolla and City, share almost the same suspension system, Corolla being a proper sedan and weight is bound to have more road grip. How on earth does City has better road grip :S

City is a different story althogether, But still i havnt driven the new City, cant say much. I altho have driven all previus models i can say

Baleno drived better then IDSI, had a better looking, (easy to get fimiliar with) interior then then Hyper valve wala model.

New City isnt a bad car id love to own it any day.

@Poster, If a bigger car isnt ur requirment City is gud enuff, but the part that Xli is only a few thousands more expensive then the City,

You do get a bigger car, but you loose, ABS/Power windows etc, (btw stay away from after market power windows etc).

Corolla 1.3 has a consumption of a 1.6L car, i.e 10-12km/L in city. Doesnt feels fun driving, i still love driving my 2008 (9th Gen Rolla) its smaller hence the engine responses faster. But Corolla is a complete Sedan.

Citys fuel average is better, u get some godies, but the car it self is smaller, is a subcompact car, The engine is newer technology, and is responsive too. But u dun wana race every day do you?
