City 2011 Vs Corolla Xli 2011!

Dear Pakwheelers!

I am in a process of buying a new car. I had almost decided to go for corolla Xli with improved face lift 2011 model, but, some good people around me have put me in a fix by trying to convince me that city 2011 is better choice as compared to Xli..... Now..thats real confusing...which car i should go for. Personally i am Honda lover but new city has never impressed me...I need suggestions from owners of city and xli to discuss the positiv and negative aspects of both cars...i would appreciate that...

as u dont like city then go for corolla ...

Well said...you are 101 % right in this regard.

What i m concerned to know about is the performance of both cars. Somebody told me that Xli is too much under powered and it doesnt have any drive pleasure...on the other hand..city is more powerful and gives a kick if u press the accelerator. Although, i am not into racing or chasing kinda thing but still i would never like to own a car which doesnt have enough powerto climb nathiagali kind of slopes...i am a bit concerened about this much power. ..atleast...I should not go for looks only..isnt it !!!

city is much much better choice, its beautiful, its comfortable, its interior is much pleasing than our rolla

but but but

resale, economic parts, this and that. go for Corolla.

if resale doesnt matter for you brother, dont even think about corolla just buy city.

corolla has manual windows (inspired from 1965 mustang)

I dont mind giving a second thought about buying a city...still..my question is about power and acceleration comparison of both the cars...is a neglegible difference or is it considerable?? Comfort is ofcourse almost the same innew corolla and city...esale is not much a big issue. City is compact and doesnt give a executive look, while corolla gives a real look of an executive sedan....any other comparison???

Bro I have both cars, honestly you will definitely regrert if you have bought city.

Remember I am not talking about "shaskhas" and "Cosmetic things".

I am talking about performance and stability. Corolla is much much better in this regard.

I'll advise you before purchasing if possible drive both cars for 30-40 km and then make your decision.

euro4 may be the reason of knocking on super petrol but the power lag in low gears is still not being comprehended n still many city owners are searching for a solution , search the forum @ pw with key word of city knocking and power loss bla bla

PS I have no first hand experience but going through threads of angry city owners @ PW I have an idea about this issue

PPS the power lag issue is not there in 2009 and early 2010 models , it is in the recent models

Xli is more comfort, bigger cabin, goes everywhere, average fuel consumption.

City is more sportiness, aggressiveness but wants good roads, gives the best fuel consumption ive seen so far.

The corolla facelift is now a real beauty and looks very elegant.City has a ugly rear.

Power:City but lowers gears are crap for pick
Interior:XLI
ABS:City
Resale:XLI
Economy:City

Rest is your decision.I advise you to increase ur budget to GLI and buy that

Whats the benefit of that great engine when it fails on steep hills????No offence to city owners.When it cant pass a speedbreaker on 2nd gear.

i own a xli 2010 and it is going fine.
if u drive it on petrol then u cant say it is much much under power.
as told by company it has 84 bhp engine and city has 100.
now you can understand.
choice is yours.
make a decision.
