Never as it's practically impossible, Corolla being the heavier car and the same engine capacity as City, it's underpowered. Moreover, the fuel average of a manual transmission car is usually better than automatic transmission and GLi auto is 4-Speed Automatic transmission, so it will give you rather a poor fuel average in comparison with the 5-speed manual transmission Honda City.
If the fuel average is your primary concern, then I suggest you stay with your City 1.3 Manual, and in terms of fuel average, getting the GLi Auto is a kind of a downgrade rather than an upgrade.
