City manual fuel average vs gli auto

Hi , i am using city 1.3 manual, i am happy with fuel average, but i want to upgrade with gli auto, can it gives same fuel average as city ?

Never as it's practically impossible, Corolla being the heavier car and the same engine capacity as City, it's underpowered. Moreover, the fuel average of a manual transmission car is usually better than automatic transmission and GLi auto is 4-Speed Automatic transmission, so it will give you rather a poor fuel average in comparison with the 5-speed manual transmission Honda City.

If the fuel average is your primary concern, then I suggest you stay with your City 1.3 Manual, and in terms of fuel average, getting the GLi Auto is a kind of a downgrade rather than an upgrade.

The rest is your personal choice.

Gli auto gave me 10 in city with light foot.

City gives 13 even with a heavy foot and airconditioning, you cannot beat its efficiency and ivtec adds a lot of high end torque (120kph+) corolla lacks both those features and has less horsepower i.e: 89hp instead of citys 100hp.

Gli auto gives really bad fuel avg.I had one in 2014 when it was newly launched and the average was not more then 11-11.5.I am also a frequent traveller of the norther areas and taken almost all kinds of cars there.City performed really well in Shugran as it is a steep climb.But in 2015 when i took my gli auto.It refused to climb the hill even when the passengers were out of the car.A kind guy helped us by towing the car with his land cruiser.So a big no for the gli auto in terms of avg and performance.If you can increasw your budget i would prefer you to go for the altis 1.6.It has better fuel avg and performance is not bad

Well my city gives me 14.1 Km/l in the city with AC. Corolla is not the same segment sedan as city and is much larger with the same engine power (1.3). Therefore the fuel economy is much less, it would be better for a 1.6 and 1.8 corolla.

City manual has much better fuel economy than gli auto. If you want an automatic car that has reasonable fuel economy and is an upgrade over your current car, I would suggest you go for city 1.5 prosmatic, or corolla altis 1.6. Both of these cars have very similar fuel economy but I believe city's is slightly better. I have driven both of these cars and city gives 11-14 in city,16-17 motorway @120-130 kph, and upto 18-19 GT road @80-90 kph. 1.6 altis gives 11-12 city, 16 motorway @120-130kph, and 17-18 Gt road @80-90 kph.However, if you can afford it, go for altis as it is a much better car.

You are committing a crime by comparing mileage of manual vs auto with same engine size and gli being heavier.

I have gli auto and it can give you max 11.5, gli manual can give you 12+

What is your requirement other than mileage and power? do you want bigger car then city? and what is the model of your current city
