I have owned both cars for more than a year now
I'll try my best to guide and shed light on the topic
Isn't a matter of whether i'm a honda or a toyota lover
As currently i own both car i believe i would be very good at judging these cars
By The Name of God I begin
I own a city 2012 (normal) in heberno red and a GLi 2010 (1.3) in charcoal grey colour
I will discuss the following points
-Style
As far as style is concerned its totally up to you
city feels more sporty and has sharp corners and edges
while GLi is more graceful and smooth
I personally love both
but for me GLi is like romance on wheels
-Performance
aww......
as both cars are of the same engine capacity but technology is quite different
GLi
GLi is much heavier and its engine it's too good (as far as performance is concerned)
GLi lags a little bit when you put the pedal down ( lag= engine takes time to produce power when you floor the pedal)
I have taken my GLi up to 190~200 kmph its quite firm even at that speed , the car is quite stable
GLi's engine is underpowered its acceleration is not soo good but its not bad either
City
city is quite light and its engine is amazing (as far as performance is concerned)
city doesnt lag , its quite amazing for a car of this price
my city has been driven at 200~210 kmph (beleive me you dont want to do this ) the car is very unstable and i feel like I im going to be blown off the road
city's engine is great , its acceleration is just wow . As it is a vtec engine it has great power in the higher gears also , 3rd and 4th gears acceleration is similar to the 2nd gear
-Economy
GLi
As GLi is heavy and it has a vvti engine so its economy is so great . Even with my best hypermiling efforts it gives just about 12~13 kmpL on local and On long routes it gives approx 17~19 kmpl @110~100 kmph
City
city is light as a feather and has a vtec , so for me it is the perfect balance of power and economy
city easily gives 14~15 kmpl and if I hypermill i goes up to 15~16 Local
on long routes is it quite stable at 20~23 Kmpl @110~130 kmph
-Durability
GLi is very durable and perfect for pakistan , its paint is tough and body wise it is awesome . small bumps and ditches in the road dont make much of a difference to my little tank
its engine is also good , it can take a hell of a beating , no sound no complain
City is not durable at all , not good for pakistan . Its like its made of clay , its paint is easily damaged , even the smallest of bump of collision can be devastating . engine also seems to be made of tin , cant take much
Interior and comfort
Both cars have very cheap quality plastic and seats
GLi
its interior is better than city but its not that stylish
seat quality is meh ... okay
GLi is great for comfort , i dont feel bumps and im very relaxed driving my toyota
the drive of a GLi is very relaxed as well the passengers
City
ufff Allah itna bura plastic
its interior is quite stylish and you feeling like you are in a Lambo with a hayabusa meter
city is a big no for comfort and it jumps to the sky on each bump
the drive of the city is very tense and uncomfortable . My back hurts after long trips
the only person relaxed in the city is the passenger in the front
both of my cars have not required any maintenance up till now (Alhamdulilah )
GLi doesnt require much car and costs are very low
City needs to be pamperd all time long and it is quite expensive
Final verdict
style : city wins just by an inch , but i personaly love toyota
Durability : Go for Gli
Performance : city (wow)
economy : City (amazing )
maintinance : GLi
note : go for economy , dont go for performance
im stupid enough to take my cars up to so much speeds . Please don't , value you life
be rational you dont need to race
Drive relaxed and stay safe
here are some pics of my little bro
he loves his Honda as most youngsters do

I Would be happy to answer any of your questions
Regards
God bless you all
