Civic 10th gen. battery replacement

I own a Civic 2017 (10th generation). The original AGS battery lasted 26 months. For replacement of the original battery, the battery shop in Melody market Islamabad offered me an Exide battery (gel type) with 1 year warranty. The guy was full of praises for this battery. I installed this battery at a cost of Rs. 4500, however, the battery packed up after only 10 months.

When I went to claim the warranty, the battery walla told me that since the battery is located in the rear of the engine compartment in Civic 10th generation, therefore it doesn’t last long due to heating issues. He offered me Hankook korean battery for an additional charge of Rs. 7500, which I refused.

The battery was finally replaced under warranty with an AGS (acid type) battery at no additional cost. He told me it wouldn’t last very long, say 6-7 months. That was surprising as original AGS battery lasted a decent time.

Please share your experience for Civic 10th gen. battery replacement.

battery issue in civic X is quite common. and as per my knowledge its because of high generator voltage and heating issues only battery which may last a year or so will be AGS hybrid one which comes pre installed in the car you can get it from any AGS shop aswell.
and one thing more do check water levels of battery twice a month as in civic x battery drains waters too early maybe due to high current from generator.
if you keep checking water levels of your current battery which is not usually suitable for civic x but still it may last upto a year.

Install Hybrid AGS battery. This is now supplied with new civics . I got it changed about a year ago and no issue whatsoever

Battery problem is known in civic. From 2019 onwards, hybrid AGS battery is supplied that performs without any issue.

I bought Daewoo dry battery for mine. He said Exide is not available. 7500rs Daewoo 65

The battery walla had offered me Daewoo battery for Rs. 15000, which I thought was too much, hence I declined.
