I recently bought a 3 pin to 16 pin converter for my Civic 6th gen but the obd 2 elm device does not connect with the torque app.....is there any way to make it work ?

My mechanic has a launch scanner with a similar 3 to 16 pin converter for old Hondas and it works .

Basically I was trying to read short term and long term fuel trims and connect a chinese aftermarket HUD display....upon connecting HUD display it shows battery volts and does not gets a reading for rpm or speed

Firrstly the stock ecu doesn't show Long and shorrt term trims as it doesn't have O2 sensor.
Secondly these Chinese scanners don't support the protocol these old civic uses. Also some 3 pin to 16 pin are even wrongly wired. And I haven't found a single person having success using it.
Instead most of us use Hondash which is specifically made for our cars. You can buy from Hondash.net

Sorry my bad , i forgot to mention that my car (1997 VTI Automatic) has a D15 b 3 stage vtec engine ... it initially had the stock ECU for Automatic transmission and was giving horrible fuel average ... I changed the ECU to p2j 63 and installed a O2 sensor.

Agree with @hasankhurshid29 above, check the cable connections and share them here. I have a similar cable with wrong connections for data line.

Hello every-one!!

i need some info regarding the oil change of parked car i have civic 1997 Automatic with D15B Exi 1500CC Engine.

I changed oil in last week of July and since August 5th Car is parked i just start the engine every week for 10 to 15 minutes, as it came to my knowledge that oil needs to be changed in every three months even if car is not moving, so should i changed the oil or not ?

After gradually decreasing the viscosity of oil at every oil change interval, I poured 5w30 fully synthetic on 23rd July 2022. (Remember this engine was being run on 20w50 for almost 15k to 20k kms). Also used Honda oem filter. And now its 5 months and more than 3k kms driven, I haven't find any problem except the oil leak from tappet cover which is an old problem for me as the local gasket get bad in few days. Assalamualaikum, I am from Lahore.
I got an Civic 2000 1.6 Vti Oriel almost 4-5 months ago. The car was working perfectly fine but now it has started to trouble. In winter season, agr 2 3 din start na karo to battery low hojaati or masla hojata, I don't know anything about car mechanicals etc but I think 4 5 days bad aisa hona chahiye. Now another issue has occured. Seedha chlaty jao to Sahi chalti jati hai gaari lekin jese hi reverse gear Mai shift karon to gaari band hony ki koshish Karti hai or agar race na do to band hojati hai. Plugs ka issue hosakta hai Kya? Some days ago iska clutch cylinder bhi kharab hogya tha. I'm not a rash driver, I drive very carefully and follow all the traffic rules. Please I need guidance because I'm 16 year old bcz of some reasons I have to drive. And if someone is from Lahore please tell me the best mechanic for this car. Mechanic bari gari dekhta hai direct hi mu khol kar mazdoori mangta hai kam chahy chota ho. Sorry if my query caused any disturbance.
