Civic 2001 VTI oriel and EXI

what is the difference between civic VTI ORIEL and DX, LX, EX, and HX. I checked on internet about honda civic 2001 only detail about these DX, LX, EX, and HX models are available but I have VTI ORIEL 1.6 .

except Si all had 1.7l engines

Bro, I am looking to buy a car and I have seen a 2001 Civic Vti Oriel. The car seems in very good condition, but he said himself that e has changed the engine and put in a new 'kabli'. He also said it needs some 'hissay ka kam'. He has had the car for 2 years. What do you think?

COuld you please tell me what is the average for the two engines d15 and d16?

How much more expensive is it to keep this car vs a city 2006/7?

EXI has a 1500 CC engine while VTI has a 1600 engine. There is no big difference of mileage between both models as far petrol consumption is concerned. Normally both cars do 10 to 12 KM per liter depends how do you drive the car. 1600 CC car has one disadvantage of high token tax annually. Changing engine with a good strong kabli engine is a better idea rather than overhauling the engine. However, resale value is effected. But a car more than 10 years old almost all cars value become same. Don't think too much, if you like the car then go for it....

whaat you might get depends on your local market from where u intend to buy
the demerit of civic is relatively expensive spare parts even kabli parts are expensive
and ready to spend some money periodically on suspension work

I have honda Civic vti oriel 2001
It originally had Engine number D16W9 which is a 3 stage V-TEC and car's ECU was programmed according to that.
Later on I swapped that engine with D15b which is 2 stage i mean have only one vtec solenoid on its block.
now problem which i want to discuss and want its solution is when ever RPM goes above 3000 check engine light cones on.
kindly suggest me some solution

It happened with my bro's car as well when we swapped its engine. Change the VTEC solenoid of your previous engine and you will be good to go ... go to the same shop from where you have bought new engine and sold your previous one, ask them to give you double VTEC solenoid and keep your single VTEC soleniod with them, from us he didn't charge a single rupee for this solenoid replacement. Exactly, my brother's car got its engine checklight lit up whenever he did above 3,000 rpm
