Civic 2005 Vs Xli/gli 2003/2005, which one is better?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to buy my 1st car. I'm considering these two options, civic 2005(oriel manual) and gli/xli 2003 or 2006 model.
Which option is better in terms of quality, fuel, etc, and worth buying?
If possible can you guys share the fuel average of both of these cars? on petrol and cng both?

for a first car, Corolla is always a better choice. It is easier to maintain, tougher to wear down, and has better resale.
Civic on the other hand requires more care and expenditure to run, though has more pleasure to offer : )

it depends on your city & travel type
if its urban most of the time then, civic is a good option
if rural or bad roads then Corolla eyes closed

Since both cars are 20 years old, find the one which is better maintained and cleaner.
dont fix yourself on any specific make, model.

there is no significant difference between the maintainance of Corolla or Civic.
