Civic 9th gen battery connector broken

The connector I have circled in the below picture, what is it for? since I broke it by mistake and then I zipped it with a copper wire, can it cause anything bad?

Its the intelligent battery sensor, usually broken by idiot battery shop or mechanic when the terminal gets stuck and they hammer it. LOL

The clamp bolt is supposed to be tightened slightly only, and if the terminal siezes to battery and small 2 leg puller is used to pull it or just tap a small wedge in terminal halves to spread it and then use some oil on it to release.

I'm a newbie (this is my first car), can you explain it in a little easy words? Also what happens if that connector is not connected to the battery, It stops working or what?

This sensor checks the discharge rate of a standing battery, this information is then used by the ECU to adjust the rate of charge of the "worn" or "new" battery.

Without it - the ecu keeps on charging it at a default higher rate shortening the effective battery life.

And just for the record, the real idiot is me here since I broke the connector while removing the negative terminal lol. The car shut itself off completely when I tried to start the car, so I removed the battery connectors and restarted the car and it worked.(in my defense, the connector was really delicate)
Where can I get the connector replaced from? Honda 3S or some local mechanic?

Buy a new one and install it, its very easy, just make sure that you are not overtorquing the terminal, lektrishanns can damage a new one too.
