Civic D15B(Exi) Idle issue

The block code is D15B the Head code is P2A-5 Ecu is PEJ-J01.

This engine also looks like it comes from Honda Capa 1998 - 2002 because PEJ ecu code is for this vehicle only. Same engine with this ecu is with @kashif91ahmed in his civic who is also facing trouble.

Now its 100% confirmed that your engine is of honda capa and you were previously having correct ecu PEJ.

I have searched it but I do not have the 2pin connector in the car for timing need to know the pinout or wiring diagram again.
Yes the engine is from a honda capa the correct ecu was PEJ but it was for a manual hence it was of no use. I tried looking for auto PEJ but couldnt find one. Also honda capa comes with CVT too. Even if I do find a auto ECU how would I identify if its for A/T or CVT. I will be happier to run PEJ and let the O2 do the working rather than a fixed IMA.

Alot of D series have P2A head. P2A-5 I think is specifically from Honda Capa some say its from D16Y7. Someone might have changed the head. The engine idles better on this ECU. On the PEJ it wouldnt idle lower than 1100rpm no matter what. Im happy with the fuel average and RPM is stable IACV is working all is well just need a VSS and cant wait to see the TC locking

I will search for the correct sensor sir. I hope I will find one. The next challenge will be VSS pinout in the ECU.

some say its from D16Y7.

If its from USA.
Mostly we get engine from Japan or Europe side

No idea about it. I bought the car as is. The only thing I liked about the car was the double wishbone suspension ultralight steering wheel and double wishbone suspension

His head is being swapped. Block is of d15.

Most likely. As the car wasn’t idling correctly on PEJ. P2C ecu and P2A-5 head are living happily every after.

Yes. Head swapping is very common in honda. And ecu swapping as well.

Honda Capa engine is also D15b so you can't tell like this

Because you have manual PEJ whereas your car is auto and also auto and cvt ecu can easily be distinguish by the ecu code

In such cases. Intake manifold and throttle body differentiates. But here those are more often swapped

I will keep looking for the PEJ Automatic. I have arranged a VSS hopefully the problem will be sorted out today.
Now there’s one last problem left how do I find the connections for the SCS connector.

It's denoted as SCS in pinout.

Yes ground it. Ecu will get into diagnosis.

No not yet. Got a bit busy today. I will get it done on saturday meanwhile I will look for the SCS pinout.

No, not with the body/chassis. You have to short both wires with each other. On OBD1 engine wiring harness ECT(TW), IAT(TA) and TPS shares the same return path with ECU i.e., SG2 or Signal Ground No.2 (Grn/Wht - wire).

But before attempting to do the timing adjustment job, check the crank-pulley (harmonic balancer pulley) for clear refrence paint markings or you will struggle to find them with the strobe light. These markings have normally been washed out in a car of this vintage.

Now thats a bit confusing. Do I need to short it with the TPS signal wire thats comes to the Ecu?
The timing mark is visible wont be an issue.
