Got the VSS wired today. The ECU also needs the D4 switch to be ON else the solenoids wont work. Finally I can feel the TC locking. will get the ATF changed tomorrow.

The d4 wiring can be tapped from shifter switch

D4 to ecu

Ecu to d4 lamp in cluster (this way it will also act as transmission check lamp)

Hint: use choke lamp in cluster as check engine lamp, on efi models its same lamp and has check symbol on it.

Yup I have done that. I was thinking the same of using the choke as check engine lamp. I will get wired with it. I got the VSS signal from the meter. He said older cars had VSS coming from the meter. He did the job right but while doing so he messed up with the temp and fuel gauges. They move up and down intermittently. I will get the connection out from the choke lamp then.
Another problem is the Radiator is too big the car drops temp to 78-80 degrees on highway. Is it a good idea to put a 85 degrees thermo?

No need. Great to here. Yes change the thermostat.
Yes he can find it easily. That call it " blow by valve" in desi term. Tell your friend to ask about blow by valve.

The vss shortcut your guy did in the meter gauge is usually ok for older ecus, it gets squirelly at higher speeds.

And your guy didnt tighten the grounding screws properly on the board or the main negative is messed up or you have higher wattage bulbs in the cluster

All can cause gauges to go nuts as the cluster is trying to pull ground from the temperature sensor or the fuel level sensor

He has put some “honda city meter machine”. He changed the complete odometer machine of the total mileage and current mileage. My max speed on this car is 80-100kmph average speed is 60kmph
I hope the mileage will have a significant improvement now. Should I change the ATF? Its not black or brown its red in colour. Afraid that the tranny will start slipping after new oil god knows since when is this oil being used.

Shifting from 2nd to 3rd the RPM goes up and then the gear engages. Kind of a slippage feeling.

Rebuild it or start playing the transmission satta game from scrapyard.

Yes, the kit costs about equal to USD 750/-

And requires a mechanic that understands how to rebuild automatic transmissions.

But it only happens if the tranny wire is too loose. If I tighten it a bit the gears change at 2100-2200rpm and slippage doesn't occur then. I hope it plans vacations atleast next year. Haha

Dont play around with the shift control cable too much, specially on a Honda.
