Civic Eagle Eye got accident

This particular civic has been in our circle since 4 years now. I had bought her from Lahore from second owner. It was given to a friend at that time and then a few months ago it was sold to another friend.

Car went under a dumper on GT road last Saturday near Gujrat. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Agreed and the driver knows about it. There was ample distance. The speed was about 80km/h on GT road. The dumper applied brake suddenly. Ours slipped when brake was used. Didn't stop. We saw it slipping and going under the dumper with ease. Everything happened in slow motion

at 80 KMPH.. one should be at least 130 feet or more behind. Also the driver with experience should know about the braking distance which is different for different cars. Overtime pavement gets slippery due to oil deposits and if he roadway is slightly moist/wet.. the braking distance increase by many folds.. Anyways Good to hear it was a slow motion thing.

certainly not 80 because the truck ahead slowed down and so did this civic. Its all about about relative speed which is this case i guess was 20-30km/h

Btw i see the front bar is bent inward, does this affect the structural integrity of the car? i hope not..

Always keep safe distance and never tail gait large vehicles. Even if you have to overtake em, do it asap. Even moving closer to them poses great risk

Couldn't have been at 20-30km/h.. The damage speaks for itself. This had to be over 45km/h! And as for the bar, it can be straightened or replaced!

so this bar is just for absorbing damage and does not have impact on integrity?

Bro obviously i am not sure but imagine your car hitting a wall at 45km/h. That collision can actually be fatal... this one i guess was much lesser than 45 (in terms of relative speed)

This bar prevents damage to the engine bay. It absorbs as much impact as it can. Let's see what the poster says about the speed.

Lets take it as lesson to be safe....since the driver knew and had taken all safety measures is a good behaviour - what I have learnt from this is to increase more safe distance.
