As per my experience with Honda the parts are expensive so it's maintenance is high.

Although the parts are expensive but these parts are highly reliable and durable, so for such output definitely the cost for maintenance will be high

i am still amazed why do you guyz think honda's maintaince is Very expensive than toyota or suzuki bhai i comapre honda's maintaince with suzuki alto even its cheaper than that

because you can calculate it even almost every alto requires minor's work on every 2nd or 3rd day alright so by totaling on monthly basis or yearly what you get the figure can compare it with the problem faced once in 2-3 years,from honda...bhai its quit cheaper for me,and i am happy for it and proud to be honda owner rather thn sad to be xli or Liana owner,parts are even durable reliable sirf aik dafa kaam maangti hai and genuine kaam maangti hai once you did it forget it for about 3-4 years guranteed,where as i saw mehran'z alto's liana even xli's having Gasket's problemz,sab sai ziada denters painter k pas xli showered hone and denting k liye aati hai 2002-2009,sirf 2 incident dekhe maine jab i saw only 2 prosmatics accidented came at shops wo bhi maine specially poocha kia hua tha gari ko they said khari gari par van ghusgayi peechay sai etc,civic never makes unsafe to its pessenger and driver whether its on 80 or 180 due to its parts reliablity,toyota has almost the same theory but just at indus not at altis sorrily,and i ask to a denter he said 1986 ki corolla ka Kabuli Bumper sirf peechay ka 10 thousand ka hai for civic 95 kabuli bumper he said its arround 5000 in shershah...

even on new civic and corolla both prices are almost the same whether its new or Kabuli genuine...magar aap wohi bumper xli mai 10 dafa dalwaogay because ussay hit hote rehne ki indus k baad sai kiski bud dua hai lolz where as you just have to put once in civic's any model and forget about it;-)any part...horse pipe sai lekar and nud bolt sai lekar ring piston and gasket tak...

I had SE Saloon and it almost NEVER needed any extra maintenance. The only thing it wanted was regular oil/filter/etc change.

I bought it in late 2004, sold it in late 2008 and in all that time just twice I got bumpers repainted and once clutch plates changed and that's it. PERFECT in my view.

just to add a little, the same kinda experiance i have, carby cultus' parts are more expensive than city idsi and absolutely no comparison between the reliability/durability of the two, with city taking the lead. I can say this based on my personal experiance and not on hearsay.

yar in my experiences this is the one that when i was making the hub get changed from the machenic of my white civic 95 so he had twice of liana's 2006,2007 model RXi Sports and LXi in his shops with Engine Seased and gasket blown,i asked him he said,that its a normality in suzuki any car,and after while with same problem a merooon cultus 2006 came at his shop same problem gasket blown and due to blast of horspipe car came with making it toed to jeep,

bhai in about 1 and a half hours i saw many of suzuki cars at his shop,his shop is quit wide there was baleno jxr as well with gasket problem,3 XLi's 1 GLi,1 SE Selooon all fives were turned over on highways on my asking they told me...at 140 speed...lolz...

bhai aik larkay ne meri civic sai exchange tak ki offer dedi thi muje liana sai it was in eminent blue,he was overhauling his engine...with alloys i refused and said bhai exchange karne k baad mera ilaaj kon karwayega liana lene k baad...lolz wo itna tung agia tha:) look at the fustration man,with these products what i like the possitivity from honda is that comfort is not just comforti only infect they read what consumer ask and what he requires as well,really in Karachi traffic which makes every one frustrated,this is beauty of honda cars while driving it it relex the driver and sitting back pessengers as well...its my experience....

@aashiq001, as you seem to be quite happy with honda cars, do advise me: should i purchase city 1997 to 1999 model (due to my budget constraint) or not. is it a good and reliable family car with affordable maintenance etc. moreover, are all its spare parts available in the market? thank u. i also love to have civic' 95 but perhaps it would be quite bigger and expensive car to maintain.

Hmm yar talking about karachi as i live here

City 1996-1999 doesnt have that good resale in city category,City 2000-2003 Exi S hYper has very fast resale after it its 2006-2008 City has good resale according to my experience...,yar there is two grades in city 1996-1999 infect might be three didnt have that much info about city 96 but 1st grade in it is the japan assembled 1.5 EXi City the best in its category 2nd Grade is i think EXi City 1300cc 3rd Grade is City EX(this might might be correct) yar as to keep the car,every car is better but as i mostly suggest just not keeping what car matters,its resale,its parts availablity,maintaince etc counts man,

and yar is k parts and maintaince equal to 95 civic dolphin,talking about city ex and exi dont have idea about 1.5 because its very few to see even,kher yar dolphinz maintaince i dont think yar is that much higher or expensive man...,thats the beauty of honda every car almost man yeah there is price difference of 95 civic parts and 2006 civic parts but boy never makes you sad after spending money on its true maintaince, if you are having in good cond. go for it... but mind yew it has very slow resale...hmmm

my exp with 05 honda vti pros is very very satisfactory, very good acceleration, excellent brakes, smooth drive. By the blessing of God, never had to spend a penny other than oil/filter etc...

Even being automatic it is very aggressive if you drive it hard and with abs brakes it almost surprised me few times where I thought that accident was inevitable (i was able to steer away from some idiotic road crosser who don't even bother to look around)

Ashiq is totally right here. ppl have this image of honda that they cost more to maintain but trust me they only require regular services and thats it. I have been civics from 1999. had no problem whatsoever trust me on this. all car used to get serviced from honda and nothing more than that. my 04 civic is in perfect runing condition even after 5.5 years not a single of work needed.

i recently bought a vti 96 its parts a just a bit more expensive but more reliable too,plus another pleasing advantage ,1600 cc y tech engine doing 160 km s on gt road with its red light still off.

well i have corolla Xli its totally maintained by authorized dealer

AND for oil change filters tuning it costs me Rs.5,500
when it was 30,000km driven they changed some fiter which i dont remember what it was it costed me Rs.3000+5500(oil and stuff).
Now recently got its 40,000km check up every thing costed Rs.21,000
