Civic Orial 1.8 Or Toyota Corolla 1.8 Grande CVTI new facelift?

Guys I need some serious suggestions from these car owners. Right now i have GLI 1.3 Auto 2016, car is underpowered. Toyota Facelift is coming in August17 and i am planning to go for Grande CVTI. Is thr any big difference in Grande and Civic? I am talking about non turbo variant turbo is out of my range.

Get Civic Oriel.

Go for Oriel. I have myself bought an Oriel and i am loving it.

Reasons:

Interior looks and is much more premium than the corolla

Dashboard has soft touch material instead of corolla like hard plastic

Civic has VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist/Traction Control) , Brake Hold , Electronic Parking Brake , HSA (Hill Start Assist) , Rear AC Ducts, Push Start Button, Independent rear suspension for better handling, Wider Tires, and much more.

The Civic Oriel's 1.8 engine is really tough and reliable and can survive without any major problems for 80,000 to 100,000 km's. (Grande might be the same)

The Grande might be faster in 0-60 but that only matters if you want to buy the civic for speed. i wanted a slightly luxurious car and didn't care about how fast it was, only just it could overtake quickly when i needed to. The people who wanted to race, have bought Turbo.

Overall Civic has a much better drive than corolla and it is more comfortable. One might argue that a corolla has soft suspension but in my opinion it is a bit too soft. feels like i am sitting in a bus with really soft tires bouncing up and down. Civic feels much more comfortable to me.

Go for Oriel and enjoy

P.S: If you don't care that much about resale value go for Red colour or Blue colour. they look KILLER! (i own a rallye red oriel myself so you can trust me when i say it looks good) otherwise the next best colour is black in my opinion

I am not particularly a Grande user, but I own Altis 1.8 CVT, the non-sunroof version of Grande. Drive is great. Extremely comfortable. Engine is too powerful. Just a slight push and goes to 100 in no time. Giving good average as well (12.6 km/l as of now) though It has been only 4 days since I got this vehicle.
BUT
I had budget issues and I didn't had the time to wait for 6 months to get Civic on booking, so instead I opted for Altis and got the delivery in a month. If I had no budget limitations (which I had, because I was initially buying 1.3, and then 1.6 and finally settled for 1.8) and also no late delivery problems, I wouldn't have bought Grande and would have easily gone for Oriel at least. I love the looks of Civic and it's interior. The drive is exceptional too.

But I have heard (not experienced), that you need to drive Civic with care. Whereas Corolla is a tough car. And since I am a rough user of car, I think I did a better choice of going with Corolla. Also I have heard (not experienced) that Civic has expensive maintenance. Overall I have no regrets. A new Oriel is also arriving in our family soon, so I will get to drive that sometimes too.

In short: Go for Civic X if affordability is not an issue.

Bro, why don't you take test drive of both the cars? This will make it easy for you to decide. Afterall, it's you who have to drive the car. We are here to just give suggestions. Take a test drive of both, and report back.
As for the facelift, the drive of current grande and facelift grande would be same. So you can testdrive on current grande

I am from karachi nifii bhai. I just talked to honda showroom they said hamare paas test drive kay liye koi gari nahi nah kisi showroom pe. I am really disappointed

Go for grande I been doing lot of research, i currently have 2018 gli auto with only 1400 Kms and I wanted to get a civic , after doing research I’ve noticed there are lot of civics for sale everywhere with few thousand km driven , then there are issues that the car burnt and some other minor issues like trunk which I personally noticed , cheap material used for car ,Honda has done maximum cost saving as possible for the civic which honestly has f$$& the quality of the car , and they are charging way too much , the quality of the car is not worth over 3 million , that’s why I’ve decided to keep my gli and buy 12 gen Corolla .

I opted for grande after seeing the build quality vs civic..every corner has better finish ..be it interior or exterior with yokohama tyres..paddle shifters. Reverse link and speed lock...flat rear floor..rain sensor..bi led beams..stock leather interior plus navi means saving. Inner lining in bonet and trunk.rear folding seats..whole lot better deal..not to mention ..cvt drive is much superior..just have a test drive with grande cvt. If civic then go for turbo..not oriel..turbo has all goodies of grande and plus looks of civic.

Turbo also has better cvt than oriel..oriel cvt is not fun like turbo or grande and is bland.

Exactly that's what made me go for Grande. Even though i was completely inclined towards civic but the moment I saw it in showroom was utter disappointment. What's the point of calling it an Oriel when stuff like navigation and leather interior is optional. I think Oriel should have leather interior, navigation and modulo kit coming as a default items.
