Aoa,

I have had kept Reborn & Altis previously. I planned to change car this year and did extensive research which one to buy; Compared Vti & Altis the points pondered were.
Reborn on end of model life.
Altis presently being latest tech.
Altis Cruise control, Air Bag & ECT

I bought cruisetronic on 28th, and took it to Islamabad yesterday.
Zippy engine.
Smooth & Comfortable ride.
Averaged 13.9km/ltr @ 130km/hr

Please mention the latest technology in Altis.

Yes Cruisetronic is a new technology and is not in Civic.

If your mentioning the Cruise control, Airbags & ECT as new tech then your wrong as Civic already has these!

Civic has the cruise control system installed in it, it just doesn't have the button installed. You can ask Cylestyne about it he has installed the cruise control button in his Civic.
AirBag, the Altis has one driver side airbag whereas the Civic has Driver Airbag+ Passenger side Airbag
And as for the ECT, Civic's prosmatic transmission is much more responsive and shifts more quickly then the ECT.

bro ure wrong! first of all triptonic tranny was available in CF4 Accord in the year 1998

Accord SiR (CF4, 1998)

The Accord SiR was based on SiR-T, but used the S-Matic automatic transmission. The engine is rated 180 PS (130 kW; 180 hp) but with better midrange characteristics.
Moving the gear-stick over to the right allows manual selection of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear using up and down shift actions just like the sequential gearboxes used on the JGTC NSX. When a particular gear is selected, that gear stays at all rpm. When pushed against the rev-limiter, the engine will happily bounce against it just like a manual. However the gear ratios for each gear are the same as the normal mode and the transmission still works like a normal automatic transmission in all other operating characteristics

second, having one less gear means itll comsume more fuel as the engine will be revving higher at the top gear! Altis cruising at 120 km/h has the engine revving at 3400 rpm according to my experience where as the civic prosmatec remains at 2900 rpm at 120 km/h so think for urself which will be more fuel efficient!

Sir Civic is simply a better car if you have no issues with resale or parts or rough roads or dashboard design etc etc which are the Corolla's only selling point.

Cruise Control is a very good feature if you travel frequently on highways and could be decisive but the PROSMATEC shift is much much better, even the 01 PROSMATEC has a smoother shift then a 0 meter Altis.

Corolla's engine is a gem so is the braking but the chassis and body control do not support them at all.

Corolla is quieter at High speeds but stability and road holding is no where near Civic.

Petrol tank and trunk of Corolla is bigger, and they are giving factory leather seats, if that matters.

Go for |Civic, they are now giving a DVD navigation with rear camera and some nice colors too.

Add some HIDs, good premium tires and hand stitched leather seats and you will be good to go for next couple of years.

There is no point in experimenting just for the sake of experiment.

civic has an extra gear which is 5th one but when u have to do overtaking civic will take time to shift u in 4th gear while altis will have better overtaking and pick in all gears.
note:civic 5th or every car which has 5 speed at has 5th gear extra for highway speeds for fuel efficiency.
ANd for rpm gli takes 3600 rpm and i have personally checked AT altis takes 3.0k rpm at 120km/h and civic takes 2700rpm .
but fuel average differency in city is about
city altis:10km
highway:14km
city civic:9 max
highway:15 km max

As for the acceleration, when u want to accelerate in a 4 speed auto, it will shift down to 3rd gear as it has longer gear ratios. Having longer gear ratios, it will reach higher speeds in every gear as compared to 5 speed auto. And the altis wont be friendly when over taking because when u press down on the throttle, the gear will shift down and the engine will have to rev over a longer rev band and at those speeds, going over a longer rev band isnt easy specially with that shape and suspension design. Try it, push the throttle of a CT at 120 and then do the same on a Prosmatec, ull know which car will accelerate more!
Plus the altis has more weight n less torque though thats only 4 Nm of torque

u cant say tht Fifth Gear is extra since the final gear "Fifth" of Prosmatic has closely the same ratio as the final gear "fourth" in Altis

thts why they r giving "roughly" the same RPM at 120km/h

they give upto 7 gears in Auto tranny in many cars too keep it running at optimal revs
for nice balance of economy and power

the 6th and 7th r not additional gears
the 7th gear of Auto closely matches the 5th Gear of Manual

the reason they dont add 7 gears on ur conventional manual cars is becoz it will become an annoyance shifting back and forth all the time

Sir very well pointed, my 1996 W202 has a tiptronic also in my brother's 02 Cl9.

Because the brakes do not fade no matter what you will do to them and the engine is one of the best 1.8L naturally inspirated engine in any C segment car, DOHC and totally free of vibration.
