Civic Turbo Oriel vs Civic RS Turbo

Aoa , Dear fellows !
I’ve been a silent observer of the forums lately
I’ve sold my 8th gen Civic and looking forward to buying the new civic
I’m inclined towards buying the turbo variant and have a few questions in my mind
Here’s my ex car

Questions
1) I want to buy the turbo oriel , it does not have the paddle shifters like the RS turbo it actually has the same cvt as the 1.8 so will it have a slower acceleration than the RS Turbo ?

2) Will it have a slower resale than the RS if I’d have to sell it at a good price ?

3) There is also a pre-facelift model of 2019 available

If you don't know anything, why you guys even comment with wrong information. Misguiding someone isn't right.

Due to fuel quality and initial issues people always hesitate buying an older turbo model (Pre facelift) where as facelift is way too expensive for some.So yes, According to current market resale will be somewhat of an issue.

Issue was resolved in 2017 with an update of ecu, majority of cars were fixed, and all models after 2019 do not have such issues.

Honda stopped producing pre facelift turbo civic somewhere between jun-july of 2017 so this owner definitely owes an explaination.

Coz they were more focused in selling 1.8 rather then 1.5T so that they may compete with grande. Turbo price was higher at that time too.

Every 1.5t civic has paddle shifters weather it be pre or post facelift.If you think the turbo civic brand new is worth yoir money go for it,Everyone has different opinions and you might not agree to everyone.Used civic turbo in Lahore are an issue as I tried finding one under 3.5 mil mark (still quite high for an initial model) and every car I saw was abused and not very well treated in one way or another so that is an issue aswell. And they came with theur fair share of issues aswell like steering column and what not.

Oriel turbo 1.5 do not have any paddle shifters. Not sure about cvt, as far I know 1.8 and 1.5t both have different transmission.
Purchased a clean car without any issues 50k driven in 30 lakhs 3 days back. What are you talking about?

@pwuser156713900683 go for 1.5 T RS. Handsdown to it. Warranty is pretty much enough if there will be any issue; however, if I was at your place then I would have gone for fwd sportage. A compact Suv is always better then a sedan.

Im really sorry if my knowledge isnt upto the mark.Due to all the fuel issues in the beginning I still hear people whine about what issues they "Might" face due to that. Its probably like a first impression is the last impression sorta thing where honda failed in the beginning and people lost their trust.
Im sorry I wasnt talking about the current 1.5t oriel I was actually talking about the older turbo varient having paddles. And yes I did face many issues while looking for a turbo civic and couldnt find a clean one those days perhaps its down to luck. Had to settle for a grande.

If budget allows, the Turbo RS is better

The car on sale is on higher side. You can offer him 38 -39

Both the 1.8L and 1.5L have the exact same transmission. The paddle shifter makes no difference. They're absolutely useless. The difference between RS and regular Turbo is mostly just cosmetics.

I have a 2016 turbo oriel and it has paddle shifters. Got the ecu fixed and no problems since. Fuel only hioctane and it will be the best car you have ever driven experience.

What does that even mean? It's as easy/difficult to stop as the 1.8L variant. The paddle shifters make no difference because it's a CVT and everything is (badly) simulated. It goes to 40-50 even in the 1st gear and 60-70 in 2nd. A simple L or B gear would have sufficed.

Yes paddle response in engine braking is pretty good as compared to any other car. It stops in no time when paddles are used.

So basically civic has S mode for hilly areas drive and if you further want to control you car through engine braking then paddle shifter comes handy specially in hilly areas. Whereas corolla has tiptonic transmission and you can manually change the gear as per the needs.

Its easy to carry the car to 170-180 even on public roads thanks to boost, R18 struggles. The paddle shifter assists a lot in braking.

Review of Civic Turbo
I’m sharing with you my humble experience of owning this 10th generation of civic
I might be wrong at some points and your driving experience might be a little different from mine

The car is very grippy
Has a better road grip than the 9th generation civic but I’ve personally felt that the drive of civic 8th generation was a little better if not at par ! Its drive was better maybe it is because of the hydraulic power steering of that particular model.
I mean I could just feel the speed that I was traveling on , that adrenaline rush that the 8th gen gave was great !
Though this one also has a good road grip
Maybe when the tyres are changed the car feels better
Currently I’m on these BG LUXO tyres and they are pathetic
SECONDLY I’ve observed that on higher speeds the car’s bonnet rattles a little
I don’t know if it is normal or what

ACCELERATION
The best point about this car is its acceleration it is fast
Smokes any stock engine like its a piece of cake !

BRAKES
I’ve found that the brakes are average as compared to the acceleration that the car offers
But again I cannot be cocksure about it because I’m running on poor rubber for now !

I could barely drive the car for 3500km for now so thats all that I could sum up for now !

In terms of tyres you are correct changing these will give you the real feel and much smooth drive on pot holes etc as well. This is from my personal experience im using Veuro dunlop japan v303.
I wont agree with the brakes part not sure what you are comparing with but i found civic brake much more reliable then almost all local cars in market
For bonut get it inspected as car is under warranty im not sure about this havent feel any issues in bonut so far i have oriel 20 driven 7k

Bonnet issue is there in all Civics. You can see it move around beyond 160kph
