HeHeHe... bro i guess for ur kind info..civic 2001-2005 vti's were equipped with d16w9..that produces abt 130hp..And the new altis is equipped with 1zr-fe..which produces about 121 hp..u should also knw this that altis is heavier then the civic..so altis cant beat the civic..

i also own civic 2002 prosmatec oriel..and it gives 1.8 altis a tough time.. As 1st gear 60-70, 2nd 120-130,3rd 160-180 and have taken max upto 200 on 4th..
0-100 in 9-11sec..

Are you sure about First gear thingy for 1.6 VTI Prosmatec?
As per my experience. 1.8 prosmatec civic's Fuel cut engages at 70-72 km/h to be exact.
How come a 1.6 can do 70 km/h in first gear?

Keep one thing in mind. New Altis is 6 speed. It has equally good acceleration as compared to its previous 1.8 manual model.
If your car Is prosmatec. Surely 1.6 Altis will smoke it.
Well about manual civic and Altis. Cant say anything. Because both cars are equally good.
Race will totally depend upon driving skills.

1.6vti had 4speed auto so definitely the gears will be longer than 5speed at 1.8pros

Toyota's 1.6 1ZR Duel VVTi engine technology is far superior than old VTi tech, thats why 1ZR produce 124 bhp nearest 1.8 1ZZ's 130bhp.

Mind reviewing the gear ratios? Vti's RPM doesn't go all the way to 8K.

IMO if its a drag race autos could outrun manual coz shifts are really fast(contrary in some cars) than a conventional manual. i have an accord cf3 1998 auto it has the same gearbox that came in civic es2 (PROSMATEC) although while flooring the right pedal shifts arent the smoothest (after every gear change it'll clutch u back in the seat, awesome feeling) but they hell fast way faster than i cud shift wid my hands in a manual but now autos are getting slow like i also own a lancer cargo and it shifts take forevr but they buttery smooth.
suming up the whole debate if civic is PROSMATEC it might win dont kill me for saying that.
P.S. i like toyotas not a fan of honda

i race with my college mate on a 2.od saloon 2008 with civic Exi manual 2005
i know that civic can easily beat my 2.0d but surprisingly my 2.od win the race..
if i was driving that civic i don't lose
so it all depends on driver..

when will be the drag ?

we've to travel from isbd to lhr, and after bhera we are thinking to race for 15-20 kms but keeping in view the speed camera. BTW the best time is early morning when motorway is not so busy and there is no vision problem too.
