we've to travel from isbd to lhr, and after bhera we are thinking to race for 15-20 kms but keeping in view the speed camera. BTW the best time is early morning when motorway is not so busy and there is no vision problem too.

I agree, I don't see any point in racing up a couple of family sedans against each other!

Furthermore, the morning time you mention as "safe", is also the most dangerous on the Motorway! The morning mist tends to make road a bit slippier, not to say the coincidental danger of an occasional black hog on morning venture can endanger you too, coz these things also like trespassing the roads, when no traffic around! So, be careful, whatever.

Anyhow, the Altis with a proper driver behind the wheels can make it win, no doubts. All you have to do is a quick transmission from gear 1 to gear 2, as I've felt, Altis in gear 1 cannot take you too far, such is the transmission ratio somehow. You gotta change to gear 2 as soon as it maxes out in gear 1, any prolonged 1.st gear venture will make it lag behind the Civic before the shift to 2.nd.

I've not raced mine, but this is my genuine impression. My former Se Saloon, also 1.6, could take tougher 1.st gear pedal. Try it out first and find the point of gear change that's best.

my opinion> if your civic is in good engine run, definitely altis na pick mein or na hi top speed mein civic ka smoke bhi nahi pakarh sakti. yaad dilata chaloon k in pakistan honda was the first brand which introduced vtec technology in 1996, 1996 ki set VTI stock condition mein achi achi gariyon ko hard time deti hai tu phir apka model tu usse advance hai, i really appreciate the comment of Accord7362, stop dragging on keyboards instead hit the road and get a proof recorded. Driver pe bhi bht depend krta hai, agar driver bhi khassi ho tu is mein gari ka kiya kasoor some may well say that its not the drive that finishes first but its the driver that makes it finish first.

I agree with you but what if the safety measures are taken i mean for a short journey and only on motorway. We can even bring a 3rd vehicle with us and ask him to move at least 10 km ahead of us to tell us about any speed camera, obstacle on the road etc before time. ??

Yes, if you can manage shifting them quickly enough. By the time the 6.th is employed, the dual will already be over. In fact, duel will be over in 2.nd -3rd gear, rest will be a picnic venture, lol!

Toyota's 1.6 1ZR Duel VVTi engine technology is far superior than old VTi tech, thats why 1ZR produce 124 bhp nearest 1.8 1ZZ's 130bhp.

The race is between apples and oranges...

Toyota's signature style for normal car lineup is better torque at lower RPM which sacrifices peak power. This eventually makes them a treat to drive in everyday commuting.

Civic on the other hand, is a confused car in my opinion. Its not a sports car, but brings in power way beyond normal operating range.

Considering Civic's better high end performance, and Corolla being newer, it will be a good race though!

That was old version.New 2zr-fe produces 142 bhp comes in Corolla of thailand.Thats much more superior than ivtec and also more economical.

Even stock 1zz-fe produces 138 bhp peak output. Pakistani version is detuned for better economy.
